John Mayer - What makes John Mayer so 'hot?'  This 24-year-old singer, guitarist, songwriter, & performer, has much to be happy about these days.  Mayer was listed as one of the "Greatest Climbers" by Billboard as his album climbed from #82 to #56 on album charts.  Rolling Stone named Mayer as one of Ten Artists to Watch for in 2002.

Mayer grew up in Connecticut. At the age of 13, he started learning how to play guitar.  After high school, Mayer moved on to expand his musical horizons at Boston's prestigious Berklee College of Music.  Soon, he decided to take his music to Atlanta, where he spent his days playing at coffee shops.

John Mayer's current album, Room for Squares, has sold well over a million with such hits as No Such Thing, Your Body is a Wonderland, and Why Georgia. Many artists these days who has as much success as Mayer are arrogant, but Mayer is friendly and open-minded. According to interview with MTV, Mayer explains, "I think a lot of artists are purposely not nice because they feel like it really augments their whole image. I like the idea of not having an image to uphold. I like making records and being good at making records and playing the guitar and singing. And when I am off the job I'm like, 'Hi, how are you?' It must be hard to be a hard ass because it takes a lot of dedication to ignore someone."

John Mayer's love for songwriting is evident on his current album. On the track Why Georgia, Mayer explains lyrically about his struggles and wonders in life.  "Either way I wonder sometimes / About the outcome / Of a still verdictless life."

So what is John Mayer doing these days?  Besides enjoying his fast-growing success, he is on a nationwide tour with the Counting Crows.  There is no end to the success of John Mayer.
