In Logos, mages can congregate in chantries, coffee houses, and back alleys but the heart of mage society is Bedlam, a trendy nightclub and tiny umbral realm. Bedlam is the meeting place for the Council of the Warren, a group of the most powerful mages in the city, and functions as a ‘no fire zone’ for all of the traditions.

THE COUNCIL

Archduncan Copernicus ~
No, not that Copernicus, though he’s almost old enough to be. The head of the Order of Hermes in Logos and the highest ranking Hermetic in New England, if any man could be said to ‘lead’ the mages in Logos, it would be Copernicus. Somber, even-tempered, and conservative, many respect and appreciate his work while others chaff under his control.

Duncan Laslow ~
A dark and handsome young man who managed to take a seat once reserved for the Adepts, Laslow presents a face of modesty, sincerity, and humility to the world. Vicious rumors persist, however, about his personal corruption and duplicity. Laslow portrays himself as a progressive among old men but seems less motivated by ideology as ambition.

Nikoli Volkov, Director of Operations ~
The head of the Knights Templar in the area, Volkov keeps to himself and only appears in Bedlam when the Council meets. A fastidious autocrat with little patience for errors or excuses, he directs the Knights with an iron fist and has set a policy of harsh punishments for those who break the Maya. (Or, in Templar terms: disrupt standard procedure) Mages in Logos universally dislike Volkov, even those within his Paradigm.

Father Telesphorus ~
An ancient man who has served as the head of the Temple of Concordance since its inception in 1868, members of The Sacred Voices revere him but to many his outlook and policies are embarrassingly anachronistic. Though in poor health, Telesphorus’ mind is still quite sharp and his ‘Il Libro di Armonia’ is standard reading for Initiates throughout the world.

Gregory Duke ~
The head of the Cabal, Duke is a quiet and intense man. He has not been seen in Bedlam or the Council chambers for several years now many within his own Cabal do not have access or information on him but rumor has it that he spends all his time within the mainframe of the Trinity. His assistant, clone, and ‘son’, Gillespie, often serves in his stead.

Phoenix ~
One of the three heads of the Akashic Brotherhood (the other two are the Dragon and the Tiger), Phoenix displays a lightness of spirit lacking in the Council. As an approachable progressive who often butts heads with other Council members, many younger mages support Phoenix more than their own Paradigm heads. Phoenix also is one of the few High Paradigm leaders to recognize and support the works of the Low Paradigms.

Paramaguru V. ~
The Paramaguru of the Chakravanti is a bit odd and is becoming more odd. It’s obvious the cold and emanated V has slid into Jhor, he’s taken to drinking nothing but fresh blood, and shuns the daylight. Rumors persist bizarre personal habits and some say his suggestions to the Council of late have been... distasteful.

Grace ~
Grace is perhaps the easiest Council member to spot due to her enormous pink leather wings. She’s not so much the head of the Sensates as one of the most popular members. As a representative of a Low Paradigm, Grace has little influence on the Council proper and most of the members expect her to sit quietly while they make the decisions. So far, Grace has done mostly that, instead using her Council status to influence other aspects of mage society.

Aethelind, Blood Mother of the Ashwood Coven ~
The newest of the Council member, no one is quite certain what happened to her forerunner but none in the Verbana have questioned her authority yet. Aethelind occasionally stays in Bedlam and it always accompanied by a giant python she says is her familiar. She’s become a loud voice in the council, if not as powerful as she’d like, and other members are looking for a replacement for her.
