HELLO READER!

The layout changes in the site have been accomplished and I hope you'll find it more professional and appealing. Now, I would like to ask your help to decide if I should make changes in the content of this newsletter as well.

I'm thinking about publishing reviews of gothic culture sites instead of book reviews. On this issue, there's a review of a goth site (apart from the traditional book review), so that you can see what I'm proposing.

If the amount of votes is for the changes to be made, then there'll be from the next issue on, 4 site reviews: of goth literature & poetry sites, goth music ones, goth visual arts (artists, image galleries, comics) ones and esoteric (paranormality, wicca, mythology) ones. Otherwise, the book reviews will continue to be published.

My intention is to give a greater relevance to this newsletter, as not many people may be interested in books, but may be interested in good goth or esoteric sites.

If you want to help me with this decision, just vote in this poll: https://www.angelfire.com/moon/darkchamber/dc-news-survey.htm. If you want to make comments, suggestions or critics, you can leave them on the (new and improved) guestbook: http://pub15.bravenet.com/guestbook/1223550981/ or send me an email: darkchamber@immortal.com. Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Now talking about this month's new features...

The Visual Arts section has the storyline of the Sandman comics and a little about its creator Neil Gaiman. The Darklore section has an article about Alchemy, from its origins to its last centuries of existence.

The Library section has Laurell K. Hamilton's biography, the creator of the Anita Blake series. The Movies section has a review of the film "The Haunting" and the Music page features the biography of the classic rock band The Bauhaus.

Apart from our articles there are the excellent contributions of Herbert Jerry Baker with one story and two poems, Stuart Howson with a new poem, Lianna Draven with four poems and Frederick Mayer with six poems.

Finally, the Image Gallery has 3 new illustrations accompanied by excerpts of poems by Robert Burns, Charles Baudelaire and Corneille.

I hope this month's contents will be useful and fun to you, and that you'll have a productive month.

Until next,

Your webmistress, Marion

********************** BOOK REVIEW *********************
**********************************************************
Edge of Twilight by Maggie Shayne

Edge is the oldest vampire in his territory, and after arriving home and finding all his children murdered, he searches for the man who did that.

That man is Frank Stiles, a former FBI agent, who for more than 50 years has been managing to stay alive using a secret power that he took from "The Child of Promise".

Amber Lily is this "Child", who's a daughter of a couple of vampires, but was born half-human, half-vampire. She starts to chase Frank Stiles as well, searching for a cure to the illness of a friend, and on the way, she meets Edge and he stars to use her powers - which she ignores - to find Stiles.

However the couple ends falling in love with each other, and in the end Edge will have to choose between accepting this love or accomplishing his revenge and living forever lonely.

This book is part of the Wings Of The Night series and is due to have a continuation.

http://www.lynettestudio.com

This is one of the best online artist galleries of the moment, and it shows some fantastic fantasy illustrations by Lynette Yencho, which can also be acquired through it.

First of all, it has a very beautiful and simple layout that loads fast even in my dial-up connection, and has an easy navigation.

Her works are very diverse, going from abstract, to children fantasy, art nouveau, portraits and sculptures.

Lynette's an artist with more than 30 years of experience and her illustrations show a great creativity and skill.
