Things I have learned about Bald Eagles
- They are the largest birds in the world.
- They can usually weigh 9-12 pounds.
- They can fly up to 30mph.
- They eat fish, jackrabbits, ducks, waterfowl, and carrion.
- Seen in every state except Hawii.
- The Bald Eagle is listed as
- Not all eagles migrate, but if streams and lakes freeze over, Bald Eagles must go South to find open fresh water or head to the coast.
- Eagles are very territorial during nesting season.
- The nest can get from 5-9 feet in diameter.
- They build their nests in a large tree near the coasts and rivers.
