The TRUTH about the pentagram

The pentagram is a five pointed star within a circle. Commonly mistaken for a sign of the devil, it truly has to relation with christianity. It is a symbol to represent Wicca's ideaology: to live one's life in harmony with the five elements.

Each point on the star represents one of the five elements. Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. The circle binds these elements in a cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

In its usual upright position (one point uppermost), the pentagram is an ancient symbol of protection from evil. Also called 'the endless knot', the pentagram was often displayed on doors, windows, and hearths of houses throughout pre-Christian Europe. It can be traced back to Egyptian and Sumerian cultures, and has even been found on Native American medicine tools. Sometimes mistakenly confused with the Star of David, or hexagram (a six-pointed star emblematic of Judaism), the pentagram is sometimes called the Star of Solomon, especially by ceremonial magicians.

-gets urge to rant- And then christianity came along and said 'OH LOOK AT ME.....IM CHRISTIANITY....WHAT? YOU DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD, YOU MUST WORSHIP THE DEVIL!' and...of course...stole the pentagram and made it the devil's sign, because CHRISTIANS cannot accept than NOT ALL RELIGIONS BELIEVE IN GOD AND THE DEVIL and that all religions that do not worship GOD worship SATAN!!! -end rant-
