Top 10 Reasons NOT to Be Greek
I want to be in "AAA" sorority
because my boyfriend is in the "complementary" fraternity, or vise
versa.
*You may not be together forever, but once in you are a Zeta, Sigma,
Alpha, ect...for life!!
Being a "Λ Μ Ε
My best friend is doing it
*If your best friend jumps offs a bridge, would you? Do what is right
for you!
My entire family belongs to sorority or fraternity x,y,z and
I don't have a choice
*You always have a choice to join something else, or not to be greek at all
*Be an individual, make your own decision!
The colors are cute (which I have actually heard someone
say)
*Please stop the madness, how silly can you be? Some of the colors
don't even match! =-)
I want to step and stroll (line or party dance)
*These are nice and all but they are no the foundations of a BGLO and are
not pertinent to their survival
I want to fit "in" or be in the "in
crowd"
*Totally irrelevant to anything in life
To have friends and to be popular
*Though be it you will gain some fame and popularity on some campuses, you
may also lose some. Your sorors will be just that sorors, not all will
be friends. People that become your friends because you cross are not
really your friends.

*Please do not waste our time
To wear letters
*Buy a white shirt and put your name on it! =-)
Top 10 Reasons to Be Greek
It's in your heart, mind, and veins running
wild!!!!
*All sorors you understand!
*You must have a zeal for the organization.
When you sleep at night you dream about Zeta,
ect...
*I know I dreamed about Zeta!
You would let nothing stop you from becoming
a member of a particular organization
*If you would let nothing and no one deter you from being a member then go
for it!
You have researched the history of BGLO and
interacted with them and you feel this is honestly right for you!
*You must investigate what you are getting into and give everyone a chance
The principles of the sorority/fraternity are
in line with the things you believe in and are trying to obtain.
*Never join anything you do not concur with.
You would like to exhibit to the world that Black Greeks are
a positive influence in the community and would like to render your services
thereof.
*Please, we do not need anymore negative influences of Black Greeks.
We also need to give back more to those that have given to us.
To continue a legacy of strong black American men and women,
that our ancestors...Such as WEB DuBois, Zora Neal Hurston, Rev. Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr., and Dr. Maya Angelou have worked so hard to
establish.
*All of our founders worked to make organizations that could benefit our
people
To triumph over stereotypes and adversities
that the media and our own people have set against us.
*So many people have put out negative, disrespectful, and demising images,
thoughts, and words. We need to change this.
Because you know in your heart you could not
live with out being a Zeta, Sigma, ect.
*If this continues to knock at the door of your heart, open it!
To enhance your personal qualities and
characteristics, thereby giving back to your organization.
*If there are things such as working with children, that would benefit the
sorority/fraternity and also help you become a better person, you are on the
right track!
