Our local VVA Chapter 317 was established in 1987 for Vietnam Era Veterans in the Kansas City area. Many of its founding members helped build the Vietnam Veterans Memorial at 43rd and Broadway, Kansas City, MO
We are dedicated to the precept that no veteran should stand alone.:
Provide emergency relief to veterans, scholarships to children of veterans, assistance to local charities, food for the homeless, support of Stand Downs and a service representative for dealing with the VA.
Stand for veterans issues in the community.
Hold services at the Kansas City Vietnam Veterans Memorial on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, and conduct other social events throughout the year.
Publish Three Decades and a Wake Up, a free newsletter for members and supporters.
We meet on the 3rd Thursday of each month, with dinner at 6:00 PM courtesy of the chapter, (bring a dish if you wish) and meeting starts at 7:00 PM. (for location, call 816-561-VETS or visit our new home, 31st and Walnut, Kansas City, MO 64111).
