Fact or Fiction of Medieval Times

-|: Knights often used their horses as weapons, trampling their foes to the ground.
-|: Horse mounted soldiers were a great signifigance to an armies leader during this time.
-|: The ability to weild a sword or lance was a special skill, and took lots of practice.
-|: During the middle ages everyone walked around believing in superstitions and the way of the dark. Witches were blamed for everything and people were burned daily at the stake. Hell of a way to have a bondfire aye?
-|: Castles demonstrate the majesty, power, and wealth of the nobility.
-|: To build a castle was an easy and cheap task, thats why there are so many in europe.
-|: In the middle ages the lord of the manor had the right to "sleep" with the bride of an estate during the first night of marriage. These were some fun times...
-|: For safety and defense, people in the middle ages formed small communities in which a lord or master governed over.
-|: During these times there was so much land around that it was up for grabs, the lords would give away the land to anyone who asked. The only thing was that if they got invaded, that was their problem.
-|: During the middle ages, for some odd reason everyone believed the earth was flat.
-|: Soap was invented during the dark-ages, many people during medieval times bathed in the local bath houses were it was available using the same water over and over. Washing was one of the penances for people to use to attone for sins.
-|: Many people of the middle ages were subjected to easily getting sicknesses and died from common illnesses suck as the flu, colds, and other diseases. The worst ones would be the plague.
