There are gonna be a lot of changes to the “Middle School” for the school year of 2003-2004. One that a lot of people are upset about is that you are not allowed to carry book bags around the school anymore. We have to put them in our locker before advisory and are not allowed to have them again until after school. This is going to cause a lot of problems this year such as tardies and students forgetting their supplies. I mean, between books, binders, notebooks, folders, homework, loose-leaf paper, and other small things such as pens and pencils, it’s a lot for us to handle. Plus the other things we wanna carry around with us. Another thing is when we have 2 classes on the other sides of the school, such as P.E., you have to come in, go to your locker which is on the other side of the school, and then you have to walk all the way back to get to class. It might not be as bad for the 6th and 8th graders because our halls are by the field house. I just feel sorry for the 7th graders. GOOD LUCK! Anyways… on the school homepage Mrs. Crowell wrote that she has had lots of calls about parents being concerned about the weight we have on our backs all day. Well the kids are still gonna be carry all that weight, just in their arms. Well, my point is it’s gonna be hard for all of us. It does sort of prepare us for high school, but they could just have bookbags too!
