The Unoffical Survival Guide to GP St. Louis.
Team Format: It is Team Limited. Each team gets 2 Starters of Mercadian Masques and 4 Boosters. The team records the cards and turns them in. After all cards have been turned in, then the packets are randomly redistrubuted. Then the team will have 35 minutes to build 3 decks and 3 sideboard labeled "A ,B, or C".
Where: GP ST. Louis is held at America's Center in downtown St. Louis. It is located on the corner of Broadway and Convention, and its right next to the Trans World Dome.
How to get there: See MAP.
From Illinois: Use the King Bridge to cross the Mississippi River.
From Highway 40: Take the last Missouri Exit (Exit 40). Go north on Broadway. Make an left at Convention. A parking garage should be on your left; the convention center on your right.
From Highway 44/55: Take the 7th Street Exit. Make an right turn onto Park and go one block. The next street is Broadway, make an left turn there. Continue on Broadway until Convention Street, and then make an left turn.
From Highway 70: Due to construction that will close the interstate at West Florissant for the weekend of GP St. Louis, taking 70 is not recommended. However, if you are planning to come into downtown St. Louis prior to the afternoon rush hour (which begins at 3), be prepared to spend extra time. Take the Broadway exit (exit 249) and go south. Make an right turn onto Convention. The I-70 Detour is either Natural Bridge Road (go east on Natural Bridge Road until Jefferson, and go south on Jefferson until Delmar, and make an left turn onto Delmar -- which becomes MLK Drive) OR Highway 170 south to Highway 40 east (follow directions for Highway 40). You will be required to make the detour from 7 pm Friday until 6 am Monday.
Event Cost: It costs $90 per team to preregister (about $30 per member) or $100 on site (about $33-34 per team member). Side events begin Friday night, which will consist of other team limited events.
If you don't feel like playing team side events on Friday night, there will be Friday Night Magic events at some nearby stores. These stores are holding FNM events on the 12th, all are DCI-Sanctioned (All events start at 6pm unless noted):
Dining: All the places to eat in downtown St. Louis are listed here. America's Center is located within walking distance of Laclede's Landing, home to some of the best dining establishments such as Jake Steaks and Spagehetti Factory.
Other attractions: The St. Louis Cardnials are having an home series against the Dodgers this weekend. Friday and Saturday games begin at 7:10; Sunday begins at 1:10; some tickets still remain for all 3 games.

We will attempt to get on television at the KSDK studios for "Show Me St. Louis" on Friday, May 12. If you are planning to be in St. Louis early, please head to 2000 Market Street between 2:30 and 3:45 p.m. on the 12th. Guru Demos will be available at that time. The more players that show up, the better the chances we will get at least some of them on TV.
Guru Demos from Region Players: Visitors may take part of Demos on Saturday from 1 to 4 pm. Flyers for the Yahoo! St. Louis MTG club (an invite-only club) and for the region website will be available.
