The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Psalm 23 (NIV)

This is my father Roger Stephen Burkeen I. He was a good-natured man that never had bad thoughts of anyone. He could strike up a conversation with a complete stranger any time. He had an excellent sense of humor and a warm heart to all who knew him. His best quality was his gentlehand, anytime there was a problem, he could handle it in the most heartning way. His life ended on April 15, 1995, he had a massive heart-attack that Saturday morning. Why such a gentle human-being could lose his life at the young age of 40 is a mystery to all who bear the pain I do. But I take comfort in the thought of dad walking with God in Heaven.

May you sleep peacefully, from your loving son, Roger Stephen Burkeen II
