Star Light Night Stables

Welcome!

Welcome to SLNS, owned by Kate O’Riley and home to 38 terrific horses, including thirteen Quarter Horses, ten Thoroughbreds, eleven Missouri Fox Trotters, one Paint, one Morgan, one Shetland Pony, and one Shetland/Welsh Pony cross.

Services provided
SLNS provides boarding and breeding services, training, and lessons. We are the only breeders of Missouri Fox Trotters in Hay! The information on our services is available on their respective pages.

About us
SLNS is located near Marshfield, Missouri, in the middle of the Ozarks, abut twenty miles from Springfield. We have 600 acres of land, one 100 stall main barn (including an indoor riding arena), a 10 stall broodmare barn, three stall quarantine barn, and many other facilities, including a one mile track, two outdoor arenas, and numerous trails.
We have many fine horses at SLNS, with seventeen of them being titled, and many others near to it. Our mare RCp. Call Me Kate is widely known in hunter/jumpers, and her daughter, Unbelievably Kate, is also earning quite a reputation for herself. Our terrific Western stallions include SEq. Hoofin’ The Beat and SEq. Geography Guy, along with EEq. Sunset Symphony, the first titled Fox Trotter in the game.
We pick our horses only after a very close evaluation. Our horses must be easy to handle, non-aggressive, and willing to work. Indeed, most of our horses simply refuse to stop working. Our horses are trained in many skills, and all are taught to be ponied at all gaits, to trailer very easily, to stand still upon request, and in other ways taught to be as easy for a human to handle as possible. All horses are accustomed to as many different situations as possible, and are often ridden over the trails. Foals are imprinted. We treat all our horses respectfully, and the only whips, quirts, or crops allowed on premises are for show purposes and for lunging purposes, unless extreme measures must be taken. Riders are required to wear a helmet at all times while riding, and beginners are required, in addition, to wear a helmet whenever they are on SLNS grounds. Beginners are also not allowed to go into the stallion area or broodmare barn unless escorted.
We believe that all our horses deserved to be treated with respect, and will promptly remove anyone who is found treating them otherwise without proper justification.

About Kate
Kate has been active in the game since March 2001. Originally SLNS was Misty Hills Stables, and Kate played under Katie Brown. She was an ECCA-certified trainer in eventing and jumping and is certified as a vet. She gives lessons, trains, and often rides in shows on RCp. Call Me Kate, Unbelievably Kate, and SEq. Hoofin’ The Beat. She is also the Missouri Fox Trotter consultant for the Minority Breeds Association.

Our bulletin board
Jan. 30, 2003 – I am currently attempting to revise the site. Please be patient while I try this. Welcome to Kaylee Willow and Amy, our new boarders. Congratulations to Kat Thein, who is opening a mini-barn!
