SlasherC: i know this might be a touchy topic to you, but do you mind telling me some of the details as to how you lost so much weight?
FroTroll: not at all.

FroTroll: quite simple, really.
FroTroll: your body burns certain things, in priority order....
FroTroll:
1. alcohol
2. carbs
3. protein
4. dietary fat
5. stored fat

FroTroll: so really, cut as much alcohol/carbs as possible, and your body will start taking away from 4 and 5
FroTroll: i don't recommend cutting protein, as if you neglect that, you're body will just take away from muscle mass
FroTroll: so be sure to get enough protein (~50 grams, at least)
SlasherC: alright
FroTroll: there's a lot of reasons why excess carbs are bad
FroTroll: they trigger an insulin response, which changes blood sugar levels, increasing appetite.
FroTroll: sugars, especially, are bad
SlasherC: so what -did- you eat
SlasherC: usually
FroTroll: if your body produces too much insulin, then your liver is overrun with too much insulin
FroTroll: resulting in hyperinsulinism, where your body tries to get rid of the excess, while simultaneously diminshing the effect of insulin
FroTroll: eventually leading to diabetes and other such bad stuff
FroTroll: is this person pretty disciplined?
SlasherC: well, im going to be helping them
SlasherC: stay on track
FroTroll: alright.
FroTroll: well, i'll reccomend this
FroTroll: first of all, for about a week, try to eliminate any and all carbs
FroTroll: so essentially, food that they can eat...
FroTroll: meat, certain vegetables (broccoli, spinach, other leafy-greens are good)
FroTroll: they can also have cheese, and a small amount of nuts (i reccomend almonds)

FroTroll: the foods to avoid: sugars, breads, beans, vegetables like potatoes and carrots
FroTroll: if they want to have fruits, keep it in moderation, and stick with berries
FroTroll: they'll want to try this for about two weeks, for several reasons...
FroTroll: 1. it'll kick them into ketosis, essentially, a state where your body converts from using glucose as the main source of energy to stored fat
FroTroll: which, of course, is the way to lose stored fat.
FroTroll: 2. it'll be the quickest way to get some returns
FroTroll: which is pretty important, because it's easy to stay motivated if you're losing weight.

FroTroll: finally, a few more tidbits
FroTroll: - they should only drink water
SlasherC: no milk?
FroTroll: while diet sodas won't really adversely affect weight loss, they may as well get used to drinking water
FroTroll: because water is just really good
SlasherC: this person really likes milk
SlasherC: would that cause any adverse effects
FroTroll: well, any carbs you add will slow down weight loss
SlasherC: i wasnt aware milk contained carbs
FroTroll: granted, it's not like they'll start gaining weight
FroTroll: milk contains sugars
SlasherC: hmmm i would think the same then would apply to cheese
FroTroll: my mom uses this stuff called 'carb countdown' ... which is pretty good
FroTroll: well, they could continue drinking milk, but try to limit it
SlasherC: okay
FroTroll: tho, in my opiniion
SlasherC: well i wasnt meaning to start up an arguement or anything
FroTroll: they should try going without it for the first week...then slowly adding it in
SlasherC: alright
FroTroll: i lost a lot of weight, but it wasn't because i slaved away to restrictive dieting
FroTroll: i just found a good equilibrium that worked for me, and that's what they should do, too
FroTroll: but water is great, drink a lot of it every day
FroTroll: flushes out waste from your system
SlasherC: alrigth
FroTroll: and it'll help with hunger, which will be inevitable the first few days

FroTroll: ketchup = bad
FroTroll: mustard and mayonnaise = good
SlasherC: this person and myself are going to be helping each other transfer weight from them to me
FroTroll: butter is fine, margarine is bad
FroTroll: lol, nice.

FroTroll: they could have a piece of grilled chicken with melted cheese on it, and a sald
FroTroll: *salad
FroTroll: btw
FroTroll: exercise isn't mandatory for weight loss
FroTroll: your body burns a suprising amount of calories on its own, just walking around and other stuff
FroTroll: many people think they need to get out and run to lose weight
FroTroll: but if they loathe doing stuff like that, they don't need to

SlasherC: protein + lifting
SlasherC: and thats about it
FroTroll: i, myself, have regained back 10 lbs purposely.
FroTroll: good plan
SlasherC: any miscellaneous tips on that?
FroTroll: not really, lifting + protein insures that you're gaining the right kind of weight
FroTroll: tho the quick and easy way: just become a drunk
SlasherC: lol
SlasherC: wouldnt be hard here
SlasherC: but my family has a history of alcohol abuse and i dont even want to get wrapped up in any of that, so i kinda avoid the stuff when possible
FroTroll: eh, i deplore alchohol
FroTroll: i mean, at least as far as I am concerned
FroTroll: i don't care if others drink it, but i stiill don't think it's that attractive
