    The Honor Guard is the pride of the Marine Corps League. They are very

 involved around the area. They are requested to do Parades, Memorial Services,

 Community Events, and the most prestigious of the all, Military Funerals.

 

When requested to do a Military Funeral, the Honor Guard is made up of 3 or 4

 rifleman for the 21 gun salute. One Commander that gives the rifleman

 commands on when to execute their duties. Also, one bugler for the playing of

 "Taps" after the 21 gun salute. After the playing of taps the widow/widower is

 presented with the American Flag by the Commander.

 

     The other events consisting of parades and and openings are made up of 2

 Flag bearers, one carrying the American Flag and the other carrying the

 Marine Corps Flag. It also is made up of 2 rifleman that carry the M-1 Garand

 rifles. They march in front of parades to signify the start of the parade, post the

 colors for events, stating that the event has begun, and then retiring the colors

 signifying the end of the event.

The Honor Guard is certified by the Missouri Military Funeral Honors Program

to conduct military funerals. Chaplain services are also available.
