I am from skinned knees and scraped elbows

The old swing set from my childhood

I am from the friendships and crushes

The fights and heart breaks

The make ups and break ups

I am from the screaming alarm which awakes me every morning

The makeup of perfection

The Abercrombie, American Eagle and Hollister

I am from the mud and grass stains from the soccer field

The hard work left behind

The exhausting heat

I am from the grains of sand and the washing waves

The hours wasted soaking up the sun

I am from the fun and laughter of my past

The memories that will always last

I am from the stands up tall

Cheering, yelling, the loudest of all

I am from the celebration of a new relative

And the graduation of an old

I am from the sadness and tears looking on the past years

I am from music blasting

The fun everlasting

I am from girls who giggle about crushes and the boys who pretend not to know

The new couples new, and old

I am from the gossip that whirls around

And the truth that’s never found

I am from the fighting sisterly love

The friendship that never dies

Screaming and shouting of hurtful words

The jealousy and hatred

I am from the best times and the worst

from hanging with the girls to sobbing over boys

I am from sleepovers and up all nights

I am from the late nights, sneaking out under the stars

I am from the staying home from getting caught

I am from the phone calls late at night

The late hours spent staying up

I am from the tear jerking movies
