~The Ladies of the Sacred Earth's~ |
The Power of Place
The Ancient Celts lived close to the land, and were subject to the rigors of the natural world as well as it's abundance. Their belief system involved conscious efforts to live in harmony with their environment. The land was believed to hold records of all that had taken place on it; it was a storehouse of wisdom and knowledge. The land was seen as a living entity, full of vibrant spiritual energies, with certain places regarded as especially sacred. Rivers, springs, and other bodies of water were highly regarded, and certain mountians and many hills were extremely important. There were also specific points on the earth's surface that were considered to be charged with strong electromagnetic energies, creating natural power centers, and these were the most significant places of all.
