Arthurian Legends
In the Arthurian Cycle, the Grail legend is perhaps the best.known of all the great European stories. King Arthur's origins are in the pre.celtic bear god, Artos. The meaning of the quest for the Grail is the discovery of the individual's true identity. The Grail itself is the universal symbol of the goal of the spiritual journey. Whatever is to be discovered about the thru nature of reality is to be found within each individual seeker's own heart and life.
The psychologist CG Jung regarded this myth as the key to understanding and healing the collective unconscious and the individual psyche. To him, it highlighted every individual's need to move on from the collective personal identity.
The Prophecies of Merlin stem from the life of Myrrddin, a Welsh prophet, poet, and shaman. In these tales, Merlin appears first as a Druid, and then in later versions as wizard to King Arthur.
