Babler Memorial Information

Created in 1934 on 68 acres, Babler Memorial State Park is a recreational park where you could spend the afternoon under the sun with family. Jacob and Henry Babler dedicated the park in memory of their brother, Edmund, a St. Louis surgeon. 800 acres was added on to the park quickly after opening. Jacob Babler ordered a statue to be made of his brother and it would be the focal point of the park. The life size bronze statue was unveiled during the dedication ceremony in 1938. Today the 2500 acre park provides more than 200 picnic sites, 13 miles of hiking and equestrian trails, a olympic size swimming pool, and a multi purpose court. There are 37 campsites with 24 having electrical hookups.
