My Liberty

Jacqueline’s Junque

Majestically she stands there,
Holding her great light at the door.
Welcoming all to her homeland;
Representing what this country stands for.

Overseeing struggling millions
Searching for a better life,
Leaving everything behind them,
Seeking refuge from their strife.

Embracing them with her beauty,
Beckoning them to her shores,
Though at times to overflowing,
Yet still she welcomes one more.

There is another like her,
Who's light beckons all who would see,
His name is Jesus the Christ,
And He waits on for you and me.

To embrace us with His beauty,
He knocks at our heart's door;
Though millions have welcomed Him in,
He always searches for just one more.

And like that lady in the harbor,
Who's light is lifted on high,
He offers forgiveness and freedom,
A better life for you and I.

For these things I'm humbly grateful,
For a Savior who died for me,
And to live in the land of the lady,
Who stands for my liberty.

Being an American is one of the most spectacular blessings
I claim to have in this life.
Our nation with it's many liberties, has afforded me
a life that many would envy.
The most amazing of all of them, is my freedom of religion.
My right to worship the God of my choice.
For me... that is to be a Christian.
I believe that I have been purchased with the blood
of Jesus the Christ, and that He gave His life,
so I might have mine more abundantly.
Being an American gives me the liberty
to honor and worship Him as I choose.
I am grateful to live in a land where the motto is,
"In God We Trust" where daily I hear the plea
"May God bless America."
And He has...faithfully.
Each time I bend my knees in prayer,
attend a church service, and salute our Nation's glorious flag...
I am overwhelmed with the liberty I have been given,
by my Lord, and by this great Country.
And yes... God still blesses America!
