Please Give Me A Chance...
This is Mo. Mo was diagnosed with EPM (Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis) over a year ago and this poor little 6 year old Morgan gelding has been through it all. EPM is a dibhilitating disease that attacks the spinal cord and central nervous system, resulting in mild to severe brain damage. Mo's neuroligical (brain) damage is quite severe. He is unbalanced; uncoordinated; always falls around; trips; and sometimes is barely able to walk because he is so stiff and sore; he no longer likes to be brushed because of the severe soreness of his skin, muscles, and bones; he lays around and barely goes out of his barn. Even through all this, he still has the biggest heart of any horse you will ever meet. It has been devestating to see him go through this. He used to be a happy, playful, spirited young Morgan who still thought he was a stallion. He loved to be ridden and had a natural talent for jumping. Now he can't even tolerate a brush on his back, let alone a rider. We treated him for the EPM when he was first diagnosed in October '04, slowly we thought he was getting better, the vet decided to stop the medication and see how he was doing. He has now relapsed and is worse than ever. Our vet was wrong, and did not care that this horse was in pain all the time. We have recently switched vets to an EPM specialist (which took months to find because nobody knows anything about this "mystery disease") and he wants to put Mo on a new medication. This medication is extremely expensive and Mo's owner has no way of affording it, but without it, Mo could die. Shannon cannot lose her horse-her best friend-he means the world to her & I cannot imagine her life without him. Please help this horse get the treatment he needs by making a donation. Any little bit helps tremendously. This horse deserves his life back, he is still young and has many years to go out there and show the world what a fantastic horse he is! Please help us.

If you would like to contact Shannon (Mo's owner), you can do so here. All emails and/or question will be answered ASAP.

Just remember, this could happen to anyone, this could be YOUR horse...EPM is getting more and more common and is something you never want to have to go through (neither should your horse). Thank you for your time and contributions! It is so greatly appreciated by Mo and Shannon. Please give Mo the chance to be the horse he deserves to be... If you would like to make a donation, just leave your name, email add, and the amount in the comments box and you will receive an email with instructions.
