My enhanced background uses shadowed borders and consists of only two background tiles, one patterned and one plain overlay with just a hint of the pattern. Light and dark border color was added to the code. This eliminates the use of lots of different background patterns and is a very nice, easy effect.

Navigation buttons were made using selections from the background, divider is a dingbat flower that is similar to the one in the heading.

Font is Goudy Old Style. Not fancy but is easy to read and does not compete with other elements of the page.
