POP IDOL hunk Gareth Gates fancies a date with Britney Spears.
But the cheeky heart-throb is waiting to be asked.
He said: "I fancy Britney - no question. I wouldn't say no. But my focus is on my pop music and I am not activley hunting for a girl."
£If britney wants to give me a call, she should. but she's got to make the first move."
Gareth revealed his crch to the Daily Star during his Pepsi Ad and shoot.
The spikey-haired lad has a £750,000 deal to be the new face of the fizzy drink. Happily Pepsi has also signed US babe Britney and Latino Pop lovley Shakira in the big money promo deals, so the trio are bound to meet.
Chart topper Gareth said: "It would be so cool to meet britney and Shakira.
"What guy would turn down the chance to meet two sexy singers?
"Although I fancy Britney, I think Shakira is hot too."
"Maybe I could let them fight over me. I'm a young lad and i've got to keep my options open."
SINGLE
Pop Idol runner-up Gareth has hardly had time to stand still since the ITV1 talent show fired him to fame earlier this year.
He flew to the UK to shoot a video for his No.1 single Unchained Melody and has just finished a three-week UK tour with his fellow Pop Idol finalists.
The Pepsi job and a £1milliom hair gel, have also swelled his bank balance.
He has barley had time to shop, But he said "The most extravagent thing I have bought is a brand new laptop computer and it's real top-of-the-range.
"I also want to take some time out to start looking for a flat in London.
"I love the city and a posh pad near the river would be cool."
Gareth has also been lapping up the freebies that come up eith the pop fame.
He said: "I had a meal in Pizza Hut yesterday and the waitress told me I didn't need to pay, so I decided to be a bit cheeky and ask for more pizza and garlic bread."
GLITZ
Gareth is tipped to celebrate a fourth week at the top of the charts with this debut single Unchained Melody this Sunday.
But he is planning his next release.
The singer, who was pipped to the Pop Idol crown by Will Young, said: "I hope to bring out a new track around June or July and it will be a more up tempo song.
"I have been in the recording studio and recorded four new songs for my album and I'm going to choose one of these for my next single.
"I'd also like to do some of my own song-writing like Will has been doing."
But Gareth cannot believe the showbiz glitz that has since Pop Idol. He said: "This is a dream come true for me.
"I always wanted this and now i've got it. It's hard work, harder than I ever imagined, but I love every-thing about it."
He also admitted that his fame had made every things like shopping or going out for coffee almost impossible.
He said: "If I want to go shopping I end up having to disguise myself.
"I'll put on a hat and glasses in the hope that I won't get mobbed. But every time I do go out, I must still stand out to people and be really obvious because I'm always spotted by someone.
"I get people coming up to me, staring me in the face, and saying: "It's you Gareth, isn't it?"
