My plans are to work all the Dotson / Dodson families in the state of Tennessee.

I recently acquired information that Mary Virginia Dodson, daughter of John

Dempsey Dotson and Susan Willey brought a brick wall on the Dotson /

Dodson family line. I worked this family for several months and got it no where.

I have come to the conclusion that the only way to resolve the Dotson / Dodson

families of Dickson and Humphrey's County, Tennessee. Is to research, the best I

can, all of the Dotson / Dodson families in Tennessee. I know that I am looking at many

years to complete this project, but I am hoping by building a website that many of the

current Dotson / Dodson family researchers will help to gather and submit information

about their family ancestors to help to resolve the Tennessee Dotsons.

I am beginning my research work with census records. Starting at the 1840 and 1850

census of Dickson and Humphrey's County, Tennessee. Which is where most of

my Dotson / Dodson and Fletcher families are located. I also hoping to bring in the 1860

census to help complete family lines before taking the step back into the 1820 and 1830

census of Tennessee. At this time I would like to gather Dotson / Dodson families

matching them up to the families that are listed in Dickson and Humphrey's County census records.

As I build this site and add information to its pages. I would also like to add everyone who

has helped to complete this process with me. I will also be posting on this site for a short

time Willey / Wiley family information from these two areas. As I research the Dotson /

Dodson families of Dickson County and Humphrey's County I will

be taking out the Willey / Wiley family information that I come across. Since John

Dempsey Dotson / Dodson married Susan Willey.
