Chiefs Season 2001 in Review
The deput of the new era is in the books...A pre-season shutout victory over Marty and his Redskins... I really thought he would have been better prepared for this game... But he looked like the same 'ol Marty...
Well, The Good News!!! ---- The Chiefs looked good and played well!!!
Of course, Trent Green only played one quarter, but he was sharp. Threading passes and hitting his targets.
Defense didn't allow a score, including a goal line stand late in the game. Dante Hall ran back a punt for a TD.
All in all I think the team looked SUPER... it is only game one of the pre-season... so we won't get too excited..!!

Pre-season game 2 -- Another Win!!
This game did show a bit more things to work on. Special teams for instance had several breakdowns.
Trent Green continued to look good. The Offense line kept him very well protected. The two back up quarterbacks didn't look as good as last week, but did what they had to do.
Some of the young guys showed positive things. Snoop Minnis may be able to help us in his first year, he looked like he really wanted it! And the defense again went the whole game without allowing a touchdown!!
two down and two to go before it all counts for something...

Pre-season game 3 -- OOPS! :((
Special teams seemed to have gotten it together this game. We had MANY opportunities to score, but settled for fieldgoals or turned it over on a few trips inside the red zone. Trent Green got a little dirty this time, he was sacked once and he threw his first interception(in the end zone!). Overall the offense continues to look like FUN...:)) Our first team defense was sharp against their first team, even tho they did give up their first TD. Half time score was 20-7 Chiefs.
Snoop had another showcase game! and Peterson kicked a 49 yarder! And although Frank Moreau made some good plays, he also fumbled and made several mistakes that you just can't afford to make when you are fighting for a job.
One left... Then it's bring on the RAIDERS!!!
Well that is pretty much where my fun ended as for a the football season of 2001 is concerned!!...:))
I appologize for not keeping this site up-to-date as promised. Due to an unexpected, unplanned, and unwanted car accident on September 7th, (in which I suffered a broken leg) I did not have access to my computer to keep things current, but I did not miss any of the games.

I spent the season watching the games with my sister... 4 months I will remember and cherish forever...
I'd like to thank my family for all their help and encouragement as they nursed me back to mobility!

Here is how the season came down in 2001....
