Things to Do While Getting Time in Form.

We have to be in form for (what can seem to be) long periods of time, but that doesn't mean we have to be bored while we do it!

Get experience  - A smart shifter I know earned experience in Drakon 4 for the other forms she was raising. After a while, she had enough time for Drakon 5 without having to lie around anywhere.
                      - This can also apply to other forms, except for Flower and Rock (unless you are a member of a party and lie around while the party gets the experience).

Party             - Try out some different Party Combinations.

Try Soloing    - Every form can Solo ...well, maybe not Flower and Rock.

Raise Skills    - When you first get Xaerre, you probably won't have high skills (if any) other than unarmed. Skill-tagging is a handy way to keep you occupied, and you'll be getting experience at the same time.
                     - This works with most other forms, though not quite as well.

Raise Abilities  - Weaving, Fishing, Pottery, First Aid, Seduction, Tossing, Thrown Weapon, Traps, Prospecting (heh, you thought raising forms took a long time).

Read the Canticle - Buy the latest edition from the Paperboy 3w of Xroads.
                   - 8w, 'enter hut', w, n from Xroads for previous editions (Post something witty on the board there, it's probably the most dead of all the boards of Anguish).

Read Boards    - I suppose this is pretty self-explanatory.

Play games      - Chess (in Tantallon, the Newbie Park treehouse, Hobbitat or Nepeth).
                 - Poker (in Dalair).
                 - Draughts (in Tantallon).

Do a Tmap       - Find a dark stranger and buy a map (or kill him for it, you evil person).
               - Follow the map to adventure and treasure (i.e. experience, skills, equipment and cash).

Flaghunts       - Use that Gaming Slate for what it's REALLY for. *wink*

Go Gclaiming    - Give them Scythers some competition.
                - Works better in those forms that don't drain sps.
                - Do it in rock, you know you want to.

Read a book     - The Library in Tantallon stocks a few in-theme books about Anguish.
                  - Books can also be found in other areas (e.g. Orc Mountain or Yeti Caves).

Do Quests        - Can be more enjoyable (and easier) with someone else. "Two heads are better than one."

Explore AA      - Grab a sorcerer's map and run from one end of AA to the other.
                 - After that, buy a canoe or rent a boat and see the sea and the islands.
                 - Go visit Alton or Glock in rock form.

Gaius           - Test your knowledge of the MUD.
                - This guy can send you off to some cool areas.
                - He forces you to see the details.
                - Not for the impatient (There are impatient shifters?!?).

Help a Shifter  - Dying is not fun. Help another Shifter get their experience back.
                - Answer newbie shifter questions (be nice). You'll learn more about the class.

Chat            - There are quite a few 'lines' on AA, even for the guildless shifter.

Make a website  - Hmm, this one sounds familiar somehow...

Contribute      - Send something to me to add to this site ;)

Lastly, do something other than play Ancient Anguish. Play a game, chat, surf the web, do schoolwork, do assignments, work, eat, doze, read, cook, you get the picture. All you really need to do is hit a few keys so that you don't turn into a stone statue.

*WARNING* If you do the above, you are likely to come under suspicion of using triggers or scripts. Using triggers or scripts is against the Law of Ancient Anguish (see 'help rules' and 'help punishment'). Paldin has a tendency to remove all time in form you have, in addition to demoting you to level 1. DON'T USE TRIGGERS OR SCRIPTS, IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!

*ahem*

In light of the above melodramatic warning, I suggest that you sit at the computer and keep an eye on the screen while you hit a few keys.

Any other suggestions will be added upon request. :)
