My Thoughts

What can I say about Larry? He is very talented-that is easily evident in his Old Joe in A Christmas Carol. He is not afraid to have his own style. I saw Larry when he played Trigorin in The Seagull and where many men would have simply mimicked the performance of the actor originally cast in the role, Larry made the character his--even if only for a day. The two Trigorins were actually very different (Mark's much more passive, Larry's much more sticking-his-thumb-in to get the story)...and yet both were completely believable and grounded in their own realities. I eagerly look forward to the next work I see Larry do because I know he takes his work seriously and because, frankly, he's not in every show I see in town. He's in a few shows here and there and that keeps him aloof, intriguing, and mysterious in a way that many other local actors will never be. The other thing I like about Larry is his emphasis on his family...he mentions in his bios in every program over the past two years his wife, Lori, and the birth and growth of his son, Zach.
