Zimmer Hits Campaign Trail

BROOKLYN, Illinois -- Matt Zimmer, Democratic presidential hopeful for the year 2016, hit the campaign trail late Friday night just one day after announcing his candidacy with running-mate, Bryan Erwin.

Zimmer, along with a small group of supporters, traveled from his home in St. Louis to Brooklyn, Illinois in order to reach out to a targeted constituency of young, working women. Many women in this small, eastern-Illinois town work as exotic entertainers at local bars such as "The Platinum Club," where Zimmer visited lated Friday night.

"Our opponents will no doubt question this visit," said Zimmer, "But these women are working to support their children, to finance a college education, and to improve their lives. This is what the Democratic Party is all about -- recognizing those groups of Americans that have been ignored by the system."

Earlier Friday, Zimmer addressed rumors that Erwin embezzled nearly $15 from his high school political club in his senior year.

"I think these tactics are just what you would expect of the Republican Party," said Zimmer. "Bryan is a man of the utmost integrity and honesty, which is evident through his strict devotion to his Catholic faith. Try as they may, the GOP will not be able to stop our campaign with vicious lies."

As Zimmer worked to energize his base, he pledged to make further trips to the Illinois town. "We will keep coming back to Brooklyn, no matter how many times it takes, to make sure the needs of these young, working women are addre ssed."
