Critterconnection - a list of many area shelters & rescue groups as well as a lot of educational information. There are pages for each shelter to list the pets they have available.NEWLY UPDATED to a great new format!!
Petfinder - a nationwide database of not for profit shelters. It also has bulletin boards for individual pets not in shelters. This site is searchable either by type of pet, breed, geographical area, age, sex, etc. It's wonderful, but not too many from this area know about it yet.
