Third Degree Heartburn

Your visions came to me
Through blood stained-glass
The only piercings you accepted
Were either nails through the hand
Or a stake through the heart
When I said I'd die for you
I never meant like this
I didn't think the trails of my tears
Would be your paved road
To the sadistic torturing
and crucifixion of my soul
My body was a canvas
On which you painted your god
Little did I know your art
Would be merely for shock value
You drained me of life
As if it were delectable wine
You laughed at my efforts
To regain my humanity
Your vampiric delegations of
Right and Wrong twisted my reality
And when I wanted out
You pulled the chain tighter
I damn myself for being close
And I hope that one day I can
Forgive myself for my actions
Carpe Diem
For the night holds stronger
