Birth Of A King
T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the town
Nothing was vacant, no room could be found.
The people were there for the census, it's told
Mary knew, she had to get out of the cold.
They approached and they knocked upon each door,
Their smiles would fall in sadness to the floor.
"Go away, stop bothering me, there's no room for you."
They knocked and they knocked, and it got harder to do.
Mary knew that her time, was so near,
But she had no reason for fear.
She had faith that all would be fine,
No need for fear, to cry, or to whine.
For the child in her belly was special and dear,
He would someday wash away everyones fears.
But now it was time to lay and give birth
The sadness did soon give way to mirth.
It's said, that there in the stable with animals around,
The babe was placed in a manger they'd found.
At that moment, high in the sky
The Star of David did brightly shine.
The shepherds did quiver at the sight,
Where did it come from, that bright shining light?
The angel appeared and reasurred them, "Have no fear."
"For the Messiah, the Christ Child is here."
The shepherds went out to spread the good news
"Rise, and awake, forgetr about sleep, you've nothing to lose.
The babe lays sleeping in a manger tonight
Come freinds and neighbor's, lets give up this fight.
And on that night, the Wise men it's told,
Brought frankinsence, mhyrr, and pieces of gold.
To the babe, the king, and the angels did sing,
Hark the Herald Angels sing, glory to the new born King
