The Rocket-Of-The-Month was the Estes Alpha in all its forms. We had seven Alpha or Alpha kitbashed flights.

This launch was named “Fly ’n’ Fry” since the range was shut down for approximately an hour for a cookout. This allowed the club members and guests to enjoy a meal without having to drive off the range or pack a lunch ahead of time. The range was shut down during this time so that all club members and guests could socialize during the meal. Special thanks goes out to Dan Kirk, Bob Wingate, and Brint Jefferis for arranging the cookout and for supplying the food. Brint Jefferis ran the grill and did a great job with the hamburgers and hotdogs. Thanks also to John Skelton for suggesting the idea of a cookout.

This month was the first real test of our new six-pad launch controller built by Andy Scheinost and Jerome Tonneson. The controller performed well after some early problems (dirty battery connections) were solved.

Thanks again to our hosts, James and Tricia, for letting us use their field.

Total impulse of 1,134.625 Newton-seconds, like a partial J motor.
There were three clustered flights (#19, #29, #71) and two multi-stage flights (#9, #17).
There were 18 families for a total of 24 rocketeers.
