There have been many variations of the finally Anlicized surname Kilmer.... Kuhlmer, JilImer, Kuehimer, Julmer, Kolemer, Kolemere, Koolman, Killman, Kimmer, Kilimer, Kilimore plus a few more. A final resolution, made in 1840 by a frustrated school teacher in Gallatinville, funneled all of these into one common spelling and Kilmer was the lone suriviver. Of course we know Killmer is also used and probably other varistions.

Jeremiah Early Kilmer was born b 11 Oct 1833 Bledsoe Co. TN d 20 Jul 1915 Garvin Co. OK. Jeremiah Early died 20 July 1915 at the home of his daughter ,Marguriete (Mrs. John Green) at Pauls Valley. Oklahoma. He was buried in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Pauls Valley. Early was a minister of the gospel: Primitive Baptist Denomination.
Jeremiah was married three times. His 1st wife was Nancy Williams b 1833 TN in Dunlap,Tn or White County, Tn, d aft 1870 pos AR

(2) James Byram or Byrom b 29 Aug 1855 in Missouri. D 23 Oct 1934 in Pauls Valley,Ok. Married Clara Trowbridge in Tx. Clara was made to divoce him and he came to visit his sister, Marguriet. There he married Nellie May Stewart in Ok. Nellie is the sister of James Green(is the son of Marguriet and John Green)wife Lillie Stewart. For more them look under Stewart.
(3) Marguriete Jane b 8 Nov 1858 in Douglas County, Missouri. D 19 Oct 1955 in Davis,Ok. Married John Green in Tx. 23 Dec 1877. Both are buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery ,Pauls Valley,Ok. (4) Sarah Louise b1865 in Merdian, Bosque County, Texas. D 16 Oct 1915 in Tx. Married 1st Newman Osborn 22 Dec 1878 and 2nd John Melvin Akins in Glen Rose,Tx. 15 Apr. 1894

On July 1,1969. At the home of Sally Kilmer (Mrs.Rodgers) there was a granddaughter from each Early’s marriages present for lunch:
(1) Flonnie (Kilmer)Flores, San Diego, Ca. Flonnie is the daughter of Jim and Clara Kilmer and she Is the granddaughter of Early and Nancy Kilmer
(2) Nellis b Barnhill. Nellie is the granddaughter of Thomas and Lou Kilmer and is the GreatGrand Daughter of Early and Dally Jones Kilmer.
(3) Sally Ann(Kilmer) Rodgers. She is the daughter of Jessie and Bertie Kilmer and the Grand- Daughter of Dally Ann and Early Kilmer. Also present for this were Jessie Kilmer the only survivor of the Early Kilmer inmmediate family And Steven Ulon Kilmer. Steven is a grandson of Jessie Kilmer.

In 1854 Byrum married Amanda Sparkmanb 28 Nov 1837 in TN d 11 Jun 1901 in Red River Co. TX. She is thea daughter of Edward and Rebecca Sparkman.

Byrom was in Civil War from Mo and Jeremiah was in Civil War from MO. Both were captured and were in the same Company D, 3 Missouri Cavalary.
After the WAR, Byrom and Early move from Ark together to TX. Byrom family stay in Red River County,Texas . Early move his family to Bosque County,Texas. Byrum(Byram) enlisted 20 Aug 1862 at Marion County,Ark.
