Muhammad (pbuh) in the Bible

 Outline

Those who follow the apostle, the unlettered prophet whom they find mentioned in their own (Scriptures); in the law and the Gospel; for he commands them what is just and forbids them what is evil: he allows them as lawful what is good (and pure) and prohibits them from what is bad (and impure); He releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that are upon them. So it is those who believe in him, honor him, help him and follow the light which is sent down with him, it is they who will prosper. [Holy Qur'an 7:157]

Both Ishmael and Isaac were Blessed

Covenant was made and sealed (circumcision and sacrifice) before Isaac was born. If not, then why did Abraham and Ishmael get circumcised when Ishmael was 13 years old and Abraham 99 and Isaac was not even born yet (Genesis 17:24-27). A year later Isaac was born.

Who was to be sacrificed, Isaac or Ishmael? In Genesis 22, it mentions "thine only son Isaac". Should it not have been "thine only son Ishmael" when Ishmael was thirteen years old and Isaac was not born yet? When Isaac was born, Abraham had two sons. Because of chauvinism the name Ishmael was changed to Isaac in all of Genesis 22, but God preserved the word "only" to show us what it should have been. The words "I will multiply thy seed" in Genesis 22:17 was applied earlier to Ishmael in Genesis 16:10. Was the whole of Genesis 22 not applicable to Ishmael then. "I will make him a great nation" had been repeated twice for Ishmael in Genesis 17:20 and Genesis 21:18, and never applied to Isaac at all.

[Genesis 16:3] "...and [Sarah] gave her [Hagar] to her husband Abram to be his wife." Then how can Hagar be an illegal wife of Abraham? If the marriage was legal, how could the offspring be illegal then! Is a marriage between two foreigners, a Chaldean and an Egyptian, not more legal then a marriage between a man with a daughter of his father? Whether it was a lie of Abraham or not, it is stated in Genesis 20:12: "And yet indeed she [Sarah] is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife."

Covenant was also made with Isaac according to Genesis 17:21: "But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this time in the next year." But this does not mean that Ishmael was excluded. Where does it say that God would not make any covenant with Ishmael? Nowhere. In the verse before this one it says: "And as for Ishmael, I have herd thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly: twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation." [Genesis 17:20]

Jews were a rebellious people and were to be substituted

Deuteronomy 9:24 Ye have been rebellious against the LORD from the day that I knew you.

Deuteronomy 31:27 For I know thy rebellion, and thy stiff neck: behold, while I am yet alive with you this day, ye have been rebellious against the LORD; and how much more after my death?

Deuteronomy 32:21-24 They have moved me to jealousy with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their vanities: and I (God Almighty) will move them (the Jews) to jealousy with those which are NOT A PEOPLE (a non-entity); I will provoke them (the Jews) to anger with a FOOLISH NATION (the pre-Islamic Arabia). For a fire is kindled in mine anger, and shall burn unto the lowest hell, and shall consume the earth with her increase, and set on fire the foundations of the mountains. I will heap mischiefs upon them; I will spend mine arrows upon them. They shall be burnt with hunger, and devoured with burning heat, and with bitter destruction: I will also send the teeth of beasts upon them, with the poison of serpents of the dust.

Final warning given to the Jews by Jesus Christ: Matthew 21:43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.

The Prophet like unto Moses

Deuteronomy 18:18-19 I will raise them up a PROPHET FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN, LIKE UNTO THEE, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

(1) "From among their brethren": The BRETHREN of Israelites (descendants of Abraham through Isaac) are the Ishmaelites (descendants of Abraham through Ishmael). Jesus is here excluded as he is an Israelite; otherwise it should be written "a prophet from among yourselves."

(2) "Like unto thee": Who was like Moses? Jesus or Muhammad? Jesus was unlike Moses in many ways while Muhammad was like Moses:

(3) "Put my words in his mouth": If I ask you to read Deuteronomy, chapter 18, verse 18, and you read it, would I be putting my words into your mouth? No. But if I were to ask you to repeat after me what I say, for example:

"Say: He is Allah the One and Only. Allah, the Eternal Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is he begotten: And there is none like unto him." [Holy Qur'an 112:1-4]

Would I not be putting these words INTO your MOUTH? That is indeed so. In an identical manner, the words of the Holy Qur'an, the Revelation vouchsafed by the Almighty God to Muhammad (pbuh) were revealed.

It has been recorded in various Hadith' (eg. Bukhari and Muslim) that Muhammad (pbuh) was forty years of age. He was in a cave of Hira, some three miles north of the City of Mecca. He used to go there frequently to medicate and pray to Allah. It was the 27th night of the Muslim month of Ramadan. In the cave the Archangel Gabriel appears before him and commands him in his mother tongue: "IQRA'" which means "READ!" or "Recite" or "Repeat". Muhammad (pbuh) replies: "Maa-ana-beqaa-Ri’in" which means: I am not learned! (fulfilling a prophecy in Isaiah 29:12, see below under "Un-lettered prophet") The angel embraces him forcefully until Muhammad (pbuh) could not bear it anymore. He then releases him and commands him the second time "Read" and again Muhammad (pbuh) replies "I am not learned". The angel embraces him the second time until he could not bear it and commands him again "Read" and again Muhammad (pbuh) gives the answer "I am not learned". Thereupon the angel embraces him the third time and then releases him and says: "Iqra-bissmi-Rabbikal-laziKhalaq", which translates to "READ IN THE NAME OF THY LORD AND CHERISHER WHO CREATED-". Only then did Muhammad (pbuh) repeat the words after the angel as they were put into his mouth. Following the above verse of Sura Al-Alaq (chapter 96 of the Holy Qur’an), four more verses were repeated and recited on Muhammad’s (pbuh) first call and subsequently in written form in the Holy Qur’an.

If someone or something came to you and embraced you so hard that you could not bear it any more, it would be natural for you to become very terrified and quickly obey the commands of that unknown figure in order to save your skin! You would quickly say to him 'tell me what to read and I will read it'. The above incident shows the real character of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). Allah had commanded the angel to act in that way in order to show us the truthfulness and the faith that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) had in Allah. He was not going to obey any unknown figure that appears before him and tries to threaten him and commands him to read. He was truthful about himself all the time and tells the angel 'I am not learned'. When the angel said "Read in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher who created", only then did Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) repeat the words after him, for it became clear that this commandment was from Allah, the Lord of all creation, whom he had faith in.

During the next twenty-three years of his prophetic life, words were "put into his mouth", and he uttered them. They made an indelible impression on his heart and mind: and as the volume of Sacred Scripture (Holy Qur'an) drew, they were recorded on palm-leaf fibre, on skins and on the shoulder blades of animals; and in the hearts of his devoted disciples. Before his demise, these words were arranged in the order in which we find them today in the Holy Qur'an.

Un-Lettered Prophet

And Thou (O Muhammad) was not able to recite a book before this (book came), nor art Thou (able) to transcribe it with thy right hand: In that case, indeed, would the talkers of vanities have doubted. [Holy Qur'an 29:48]

It is He Who has sent amongst the Unlettered, an apostle from among themselves to rehearse to them His Signs, to sanctify them and to instruct them in Scripture and Wisdom although they had been before in manifest error. [Holy Qur'an 62:2]

Say: "O men! I am sent unto you all as the apostle of Allah to Whom belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth: there is no god but He: it is He that giveth both life and death. So believe in Allah and His apostle, the unlettered Prophet, who believed in Allah and His words: follow him that (so) ye may be guided." [Holy Qur'an 7:158]

"Unlettered," as applied to the Prophet here and in verse 157 above, has three special significations. (1) He was not versed in human learning: yet he was full of the highest wisdom, and had a most wonderful knowledge of the previous Scriptures. This was a proof of his inspiration. It was a miracle of the highest kind, a "Sign", which every one could test then, and every one can test now. (2) All organised human knowledge tends to be crystallized, to acquire a partial bias or flavour of some "school" of thought. The highest Teacher had to be free from any such taint, just as a clean slate is necessary if a perfectly clear and bold message has to be written on it. (3) In 3:20 and 62:2, the epithet is applied to the Pagan Arabs, because, before the advent of Islam, they were unlearned. (Commentary taken from A. Yusuf Ali's translation of the Holy Qur'an, footnote 1132).

[Isaiah 29:12] "And the BOOK is delivered to him that is NOT LEARNED, saying, READ THIS, I PRAY THEE: and he saith, I AM NOT LEARNED."

(1) "AND THE BOOK" (Al-Qur'an)

(2) "IS DELIVERED UNTO HIM THAT IS NOT LEARNED," [the unlettered Prophet (see the above verse, Holy Qur'an 7:158)] "SAYING, READ THIS, I PRAY THEE:" (the words 'I pray thee', are not in the Hebrew manuscripts, compare with the Roman Catholics' "Douay Version" and also with the "Revised Standard Version")

(3) "AND HE SAITH, I AM NOT LEARNED." "I am not learned" is the exact translation of the words "Maa-ana-beqaa-Ri’in" which Muhammad (pbuh) uttered twice to the Holy Ghost - the Archangel Gabriel, when he was commanded "IQRA'"("READ!") (see under "Prophet like unto Moses" above).

It may be noted that there were no Arabic Bibles in existence in the 6th Century of the Christian Era when Muhammad (pbuh) lived and preached! Besides he was absolutely unlettered and un-learned. No human had ever taught him a word. His teacher was his Creator -

"He Does not speak (aught), of (his own) desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him: He was taught by One Mighty in Power," [Holy Qur'an 53:3-5]

Without any human learning, 'HE PUT TO SHAME THE WISDOM OF THE LEARNED'.

Following up on Deuteronomy 18:18, verse 19 reads: "And it shall come to pass," (it is going to happen) "that whosoever will not hearken unto MY WORDS which he shall speak IN MY NAME, I will require it of him." (in the Catholic Bible the ending words are - "I WILL BE THE REVENGER"). Does not this terrify you? GOD ALMIGHTY IS THREATENING REVENGE! We shake in our pants if some hoodlum threatens us, yet you have no fear of God's warning?

"...MY WORDS which he shall speak IN MY NAME," In whose name is Muhammad speaking? Every chapter of the Holy Qur'an except the 9th (113 of 114) begins with the formula "IN THE NAME OF ALLAH, MOST GRACIOUS, MOST MERCIFUL". Also, as we have seen in the previous section, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) did not do what was commanded by the angel three times. Only when the angel asked him to "Read in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher who created (everything)", did he repeat the words after him. Therefore he spoke in the name of Allah. The prophecy is being fulfilled in Muhammad to the letter!

Criterion of the Prophet by Jeremiah

Jeremiah 28:9 The prophet which prophesieth of PEACE, when the word of the prophet shall come to pass, then shall the prophet be known, that the LORD hath truly sent him.

The literal translation of Islam means PEACE. Peace between the Creator and his creatures. This prophecy of Jeremiah cannot be applied to Jesus, as he himself stated that he didn't come for peace:

[Luke 12:51] Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division.

[Matthew 10:34] Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Until Shiloh Come

This was a message of Jacob to his children before he died. (Genesis 49:1): "And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days." Genesis 49:10: "The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be."

Shiloh is also the name of a town but its real meaning is peace, tranquillity, rest i.e. Islam. It could never refer to a town here. If it referred to a person, it could be a corruption of Shaluah (Elohim), i.e. Messenger (of Allah). The verse tells us that the Israelite Prophethood in the lineage of Isaac would stop as soon as Shiloh comes. This corresponds with Sura 2:133:

Were ye witnesses when death appeared before Jacob? Behold he said to his sons: "What will ye worship after me?" They said: "We shall worship thy Allah and the Allah of thy fathers, of Abraham, Isma`il and Isaac, the one (true) Allah to Him we bow (in Islam)." [Holy Qur'an 2:133]

Baca is Mecca

The Holy Ka'bah built by Abraham and his son Ishmael is in Mecca. This name Mecca (Makkah) has been mentioned one time in the Holy Qur'an in Sura 48:24:

And it is He who has restrained their hands from you and your hand from them in the midst of Mecca after that He gave you the victory over them. And Allah sees well all that ye do.

Another name for Mecca is Bakka, depending on the dialect of the tribe. This also has been mentioned one time, in Sura 3:96:

"Verily, the first House [of worship] appointed for mankind was that in Bakka [Mecca], full of blessing, and guidance for all people."

Amazingly enough, this word Bakka was mentioned by Prophet David (pbuh) in his Psalm 84:6: "Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well, the rain also filleth the pools." The well mentioned here is the well-known well of Zamzam, still present today, close to the Ka'bah.

The House of My Glory

Isaiah chapter 60:

1. "Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee." Compare with Sura 74:1-3:

"O, you [Muhammad], rapped up in garments! Arise and warn! And your Lord magnify!"

2. "For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee." The advent of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was at a time of darkness when the world forgot the Oneness of God as taught by Abraham and all other Prophets including Jesus.

3. "And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising."

4. "Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee..." Within less than twenty-three years the whole of Arabia was united.

5. "...because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee." Within less than a century Islam spread out of Arabia to other countries.

6. "The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come, they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the Lord."

7. "All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee; they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory." The tribes of Kedar who were divided were then united. "The house of my glory" is referred here to the House of Allah in Mecca and not the Church of Christ as thought by Christian commentators. It is a fact that the villages of Kedar (now all of Saudi Arabia at least) are the only country of the world which remains impenetrable to any influence of the Church.

11. "Therefore thy gates shall be open continually: they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentile, and that their kings may be brought." It is a fact that the mosque surrounding the Holy Ka'bah in Mecca has remained open day and night since it was cleansed by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from the idols 1400 years ago. Rulers as well as subjects come for Pilgrimage.

Chariot of Asses and Chariot of Camels

Isaiah 21:7 And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels

The chariot of horses was being referred to Moses. The chariot of asses turned out to be Jesus (pbuh) who entered Jerusalem riding on two donkeys (Matthew 21:7). Who then was of the "chariot of camels"? It could be no other than Muhammad (pbuh). If not then this prophecy is yet to be fulfilled.

Isaiah 21:13 "The burden upon Arabia...". which means the responsibility of Arab Muslims, and of course now of all Muslims, to spread the message of Islam.

Isaiah 21:14 "The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled." Tema is probably Madina where Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions emigrated to. Each emigrant was brothered by one inhabitant of Madina and given food and shelter.

Isaiah 21:15 "For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war." This was when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions were persecuted and left Mecca for Madina.

Isaiah 21:16 "For thus hath the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail:" Exactly in the second year of Hijrah (immigration) the pagans were defeated in the battle of Badr.

Isaiah 21:17 "And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it." Kedar is the second son of Ishmael (Genesis 25:13) from whom ultimately Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) arose. In the beginning the children of Kedar were attacking Muhammad (pbuh) and his companions. But as many of them accepted Islam, the number of children of Kedar who resisted, diminished. In some Bible verses Kedar is synonymous with Arab in general, as in Ezekiel 27:21 "Arabia, and all the Princes of Kedar..."

My Servant, Messenger and Elect

A clearer fulfillment of the prophecy of Muhammad [pbuh] is found in Isaiah chapter 42:

1. "Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles." Also called "My Messenger" in verse 19. No doubt all Prophets were indeed servants, messengers and elect of Allah. Yet no Prophet is universally called by these titles as Muhammad (pbuh) in Arabic "Abduhu wa Rasuluhul Mustafa" i.e. His slave servant and His elected Messenger.

2. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street." This describes the decency of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

3. "...he shall bring forth judgment unto truth."

4. "He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law." This is to be compared with Jesus, who did not prevail over his enemies and was disappointed because of the rejection by the Israelites.

5. "I the Lord have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;" "and will keep thee," i.e. no other Prophet will come after him. In a short time many Gentiles were guided into Islam.

6. "To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house." "Blind eyes, life of darkness" denotes here the pagan life. "Bring out the prisoners from the prison" denotes the abolishment of slavery for the first time in the history of mankind.

7. "I am the Lord: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images." The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is unique to among all prophets as he is the "Seal of all Prophets" and his teachings remain undistorted until today, compared with Christianity and Judaism.

8. "Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof." "A new song", as it is not in Hebrew or Aramaic, but Arabic. The praise of God and His Messenger Muhammad (pbuh) is chanted five times daily from the minarets of millions of mosques all over the world.

9. "Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains." From mount Arafat near Mecca the Pilgrims chant every year the following: "Here I come [for your service] O, Allah. Here I come. Here I come. There is no partner with you. Here I come. Verily Yours is the praise, the blessings and sovereignty. There is no partner besides You." Isaiah 42 can never be applied to an Israelite Prophet as Kedar is the second son of Ishmael. See Genesis 25:13.

10. "Let them give glory unto the Lord, and declare his praise in the islands." And really Islam spread to the small islands as far as Indonesia and the Caribbean Sea.

11. "...he shall prevail against his enemies." In a short period the Kingdom of God on earth was established with the advent of Muhammad (pbuh). The 42nd chapter of Isaiah describes exactly the character of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).

King David Called Him "My Lord"

Psalm 110:1 "The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand, I make thine enemies thy footstool." Two Lords mentions here. If the first Lord (the speaker) is GOD, the second Lord (the one spoken to) could not be God also, as DAVID ONLY KNEW ONE GOD. So it should read "God said unto my Lord,..." Who was that whom David called "my Lord"? The church would say Jesus. But this had been denied by Jesus himself in Matthew 22:45, Mark 12:37 and Luke 20:44. He excluded himself from this title as he was a son of David. How could David call him "my Lord" if he was his son, he argued. Jesus said (Luke 20:42:44): "How say they that Christ is David's son? And David himself saith in the book of Psalms, The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool. David was therefore calleth him Lord, how is he then his son?"

Jesus must have given an answer not recorded in the four canonical Gospels, but mentioned explicitly in the Gospel of Barnabas that the promise was made in Ishmael, not in Isaac. David's Lord was thus Muhammad (pbuh) whom he saw in spirit. No Prophet ever accomplished more than Muhammad (pbuh), even the work of all other Prophets together is still small compared with what Muhammad (pbuh) did within a short period of 23 years, and which remains unchanged until now.

Are Thou That Prophet?

The Jews asked Jesus about prophet Elias:

Matthew 17:13 "And his disciples asked him, saying, Why then say the scribes that Elias must first come? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them. Then the disciples understood that he spake unto them of John the Baptist."

Jesus tells them that Elias had come already, but you missed him. The Jews thought that he was talking about John the Baptist, so they went to ask him:

John 1:19,20 "And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, WHO ART THOU? And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I AM NOT CHRIST." (This was only natural because there can't be two Messiahs at the same time. If Jesus was the Christ then John couldn't be the Christ)

John 1:21 And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou THAT PROPHET? And he answered, No. .... And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that CHRIST, nor ELIAS, neither THAT PROPHET?

The Jews were waiting for the fulfillment of THREE distinct prophecies: ONE, the coming of CHRIST. TWO, the coming of ELIAS, and THREE, the coming of THAT PROPHET.

If we look up any Bible which has a concordance or cross-reference, then we will find in the marginal note where the words "the Prophet", or "that prophet" occur in John 1:25, that these refer to the prophecy of Deuteronomy 18:15 and 18. And "that prophet"-'the prophet like Moses' - LIKE UNTO THEE", we have proved through overwhelming evidence, above, that he was MUHAMMAD (PBUH) and not Jesus!

John 1:21 "...John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not; He it is, who COMING AFTER ME is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose." If Jesus was alluded to here, John the Baptist would not go back to live in the jungle again, but to cling to him and be one of his disciples, which he did not do. So another powerful Prophet was here alluded to, and not Jesus. The coming after John the Baptist could not be Jesus as both were CONTEMPORARIES. Here again, was it not the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) alluded to by John the Baptist?

Muhammad (pbuh) is the "PARACLETE"

And remember Jesus the son of Mary said: "O Children of Israel! I am the apostle of Allah (sent) to you confirming the Law (which came) before me and giving glad Tidings of an Apostle to come after me whose name shall be Ahmad." [Holy Qur'an 61:6]

"But the Comforter, which is the HOLY SPIRIT, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." [John 14:26 (RSV)]

The Greek word translated "Comforter" is "Paraclete", which also means "Messenger". "Paraclete" is also an easy corruption from the word "Periclyte", which is almost a literal translation of the name "Muhammad" or "Ahmad". The names "Muhammad" or "Ahmad" mean "praiseworthy" or "the Illustrious one" - i.e. "Periclyte".

"Pneuma" is the Greek root word for SPIRIT. There is no separate word for GHOST in the Greek manuscripts of the New Testament. So when translating the word "pneuma", the translators use SPIRIT and GHOST interchangeably, which ever one suites there desire.

Holy Spirit is Holy Prophet

"Beloved, believe not every SPIRIT, but try the SPIRITS whether they are of God: because many false PROPHETS are gone out into the world." [1 John 4:1]

You can observe that the word spirit is used here synonymously with a prophet. But St. John does not leave us in the air, guessing the true from the false. He gives us an acid test for recognising the true prophet. He says -

"Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:" [1 John 4:2]

A Valid Test

According to John's own interpretation in verse one above the word "spirit" is synonymous with the word prophet. So verse two "spirit of God" would mean "Prophet of God" and "Every spirit" would stand for "Every Prophet".

So with this in mind, the above verse can be read as "Hereby know ye the PROPHET of God: Every PROPHET that confesseth that Christ is come in flesh is of God".

What did Muhammad (pbuh) say about Jesus Christ? Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) is spoken by name no less than 25 times in the Holy Qur'an. He is honoured as - "Isa ibn Maryam" (Jesus, the son of Mary), "An-nabi" (The Prophet), "As-saaliheen" (The Righteous), "Kalimatu-Llah" (Word of God), "Ruhu-Llah" (Spirit of God), "Masih-uLlah" (Christ [Messiah] of God).

Behold! the angels said "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus the son of Mary held in honor in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah. "He shall speak to the people in childhood and in maturity and he shall be (of the company) of the righteous." She said: "O my Lord! how shall I have a son when no man hath touched me?" He said: "Even so: Allah createth what He willeth; when He hath decreed a plan He but saith to it `Be' and it is! "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel. [Holy Qur’an 3:45-48]

Muhammad (pbuh) is the "other"

"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you ANOTHER Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;" [John 14:16]

"Another", an other, a different one, an additional, but of the same kind, yet distinctly different from the first. Who was then the first Comforter? The Christian world is unanimous that in this case the speaker himself - Jesus Christ (pbuh) is the first Comforter; then other, the one to follow must be of the like nature, subject to the same conditions of hunger, thirst, fatigue, sorrow and death.

But this promised Comforter was to "abide with you for EVER!" No one lives for ever. Prophet Moses is here with us today in his teachings. Jesus is here today in his teachings and Muhammad also is here with us in his teachings today. (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon them all). The verse can also signifies that no other Prophet will come after him. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is the last and final messenger of Allah sent to mankind..

Advent of Comforter is Conditional

"Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go for IF I GO NOT AWAY, THE COMFORTER WILL NOT COME unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." [John 16:7]

There are numerous instances in the Holy Bible about the coming and going of the Holy Ghost, before the birth and departure of the Messiah. Please verify these references in your Bible -

BEFORE CHRIST'S BIRTH:

(1) [Luke 1:15] ...and he (John the Baptist) shall be filled with the HOLY GHOST, even from his mother's womb.

(2) [Luke 1:41] ...and Elizabeth was filled with the HOLY GHOST.

(3) [Luke 1:67] And his father Zacharias was filled with the HOLY GHOST.

AFTER CHRIST'S BIRTH:

(4) [Luke 2:26] ...and the HOLY GHOST was upon him (Simeon).

(5) [Luke 3:22] And the HOLY GHOST descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him (Jesus).

(6) [John 20:21-22] ...as my Father hath sent me, even so i send you (the disciples of Jesus), And when he had said this, he bresthed on them, and saith unto them, RECEIVE YE THE HOLY GHOST.

So if the HOLY GHOST was with (1) John the Baptist, (2) Elizabeth, (3) Zacharias, (4) Simeon, (5) Jesus and (6) the Disciples of Jesus; then all this makes nonsense of the saying that "if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you." Therefore the comforter is not the Holy GHOST.

Disciples Not Fit

"I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now" [John 16:12]

Meaning that you (the disciples) haven't got the capacity to understand. Jesus repeatedly addressed his disciples as "O ye of little faith" (Mat. 8:26, Mat 14:31, Mat 16:8), "Are ye (the disciples) even yet without understanding?" (Matt. 15:16). And when he was provoked to breaking point, he rails against his chosen ones - "O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with, how long shall I bear with you?" [Luke 9:41]

"SPIRIT" and "PROPHET" Synonymous

"Howbeit when he, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, is come, he will guide you into all truth..." [John 16:13]

From 1 John 4:1 above, the word "Spirit" is used synonymously with "Prophet". Hence the "Spirit of Truth" would be the Prophet of Truth. A Prophet in whom truth is personified. He [Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)] had walked through life so honourably and industriously that he had won for himself even from his pagan fellow countrymen the noble designation of AS-SAADIQ (the Truthful One) and al-Amin, "the Honest," "the Upright," "the Trustworthy;" the Man of Faith who never broke his word. His life, his personality, his teachings are the veritable proof of Muhammad (pbuh) being the embodiment of Truth (al-Amin) - the Spirit of Truth!

Total Guidance

"I have yet MANY things to say unto you" [John16:12] ...."he will guide you into ALL truth" [John 16:13]

"MANY" means more than one, and "ALL" means more than one. Can you please give me one new thing that the alleged Holy Ghost gave to anybody in the past two thousand years, which Jesus Christ had not already given in so many different words? I don't want many, I am looking for JUST ONE!

What solutions, on the authority of the Holy Ghost, have you got for the problems listed below:

1. Alcohol
2. Gambling
3. Fortune Telling
4. Idol Worship
5. Racism
6. Problem of Surplus Women etc. etc.

Every act and saying of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is recorded in Hadith literature. Every move he made became the command for every Muslim to follow. He taught us how to behave and respond in a moral, social and spiritual life.

Allah says in the Holy Qur'an:

Say (O Muhammad): "If ye do love Allah follow me: Allah will love you and forgive you your sins for Allah is Oft-Forgiving Most Merciful." [Holy Qur'an 3:31]

Problem of Alcohol

Jimmy Swagart the televangelist records in his book "ALCOHOL" that the United States has 11 million alcoholics and 44 million "heavy drinkers!"

"Give strong drink (hard liquor) to him who is perishing (one who is dying) And wine to those who are bitter of heart. Let him drink and forget his poverty, And remember his misery no more." [Proverbs 31:6-7]

Jesus' first Miracle

"Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim. And he saith unto them, Draw out now...When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine...And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now." [John 2:7-10]

Sober Advice

"Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities." [1 Timothy 5:23]

Abstinence The Only Answer

The KITAB-AL-HAQ, the Book of Truth (Haq) one of the titles of the Holy Qur'an condemned in the strongest terms not only the evil of alcohol but also items 2, 3, and 4, namely "gambling," "fortune telling" and "idol worship," with just a single stroke -

O ye who Believe! Most certainly intoxicants and gambling, (dedication of) stones, and (divination) of arrows, are an abomination, of Satan's handiwork; Shun such (abomination), that ye may prosper. [Holy Qur'an 5:90]

When this verse was revealed, wine barrels were emptied in the streets of Madinah, never to be refilled. This simple straight-forward directive has created of the Muslim Ummah (religious community) the biggest society of teetotalers (non-drinkers) in the world. It is rightly said that which comes from the brain (intellectually) tickles the brain, but what comes from the heart and soul of a man, will move the heart. The verse had the power for change.

Problem of Racism

Jesus Christ (pbuh). A racist God?

"And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us. But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel (the Jews). Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me. But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and cast it to DOGS (the non-Jews)." [Matthew 15:22-26].

When the Christians read this passage from the Bible, they say "Ah, but you see, Jesus healed the daughter of the woman". Yes he did, but that does not mean that he did not call the non-Jews "dogs" and "swine".

"Give not that which is holy unto the DOGS (non-Jews), neither cast ye your pearls before SWINE (the non-Jew)..." [Matthew 7:6]

Now let's see what the Qur'an has to say:

"And mankind is naught but a single nation." [Holy Qur'an 2:213]

"Among His Signs is this, that He created you from dust: and then, behold, ye are men scattered (far and wide)" [Holy Qur'an 30:20]

"And among Hid signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the variations in your languages and your colours; verily in that are Signs for those who know" [Holy Qur'an 30:22]

"O mankind! reverence your Guardian-Lord Who created you from a single person created of like nature his mate and from them twain scattered (like seeds) countless men and women." [Holy Qur'an 4:1]

"O mankind! We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that ye may know each other (not that ye may despise each other). Verily the most honored of you in the sight of Allah is (he who is) the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well acquainted (with all things)." [Holy Qur'an 49:13]

Holy Prophet (pbuh) said in his last sermon:

". . .You know that every Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. YOU ARE ALL EQUAL. No Arab has superiority over the non-Arab, neither the non-Arab over the Arab; The white has no superiority over the black, neither the black over the white. NOBODY HAS SUPERIORITY OVER OTHER EXCEPT BY PIETY AND GOOD ACTION" [Quoted from Sahih Hadeeth]

Problem of Surplus Women

Great Britain has 4 million surplus women. Germany, 5 million. Soviet Russia, 7 million etc.

America, O America

We learn that the U.S.A. has a surplus of 7.8 million women. It means that if every man in America got married, there would still be 7 800 000 women left over, women who would not be able to get husband. But to make things worst, while the women are increasing in number, the men are becoming gays and running away from the women!

ONLY SOLUTION - Restricted and regulated polygamy

"...Marry women of your choice, two or three, or four; But if you fear that you will not be able to deal justly (with them) Then (marry) only one..." [Holy Qur'an 4:3]

It is a joking matter in the West for a man to keep a dozen mistresses, and beget a dozen bastard (biblical word!) children every year. Such lecherous creatures are proudly labelled as "studs." "Let him sow his wild oats, but don't hold him responsible!" says the West.

Comforter to be a MAN

"Howbeit when HE, the Spirit of truth, is come, HE will guide you into all truth: for HE shall not speak of HIMSELF; but whatsoever HE shall hear, that shall HE speak: and HE will show you things to come." [John 16:13]

Seven masculine pronouns in a single verse ill befits a GHOST, holy or not!

Things to Come

"And he will show you things to come." [John 16:13]

Under this heading alone, we can write whole books on the subject. There are hundreds and thousands of sayings of the Holy Prophet where he has shown us what is to come. Here are some examples:

"One day the Holy Prophet stood before us (Companions of the Holy Prophet) and told us about EVERY SINGLE EVENT that was going to occur until the Day of Judgment. He who remembered these facts remembered them and he who forgot them forgot them. These friends of mine (Companions of the Holy Prophet) know this. Whenever any of those events occur (about which the Holy Prophet had informed us) which I had forgotten, then on seeing it talking place, I immediately remember it in the same way as a person recognises someone immediately, whom he has not seen for a long time, upon seeing him again." (Bukhari and Muslim)

"The Holy Prophet stood before us (Companions of the Holy Prophet) one day and told us about everything that had happened from the beginning of creation and EVERYTHING THAT WAS GOING TO OCCUR right up to the time when the inhabitants of Paradise and the inhabitants of Hell would occupy their respective places in these two abodes. He who remembered these facts remembered them and he who forgot them forgot them. (Bukhari)

Shall we see our Lord on the day of Judgment?

"They (the companions of the Holy Prophet) said: Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him), shall we be able to see our Lord on the Day of Judgment? He said: Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun at noon when there is no cloud over it? They said: No (the sun is visible when there are no clouds). He again said: Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the fourteenth night when there is no cloud over it? They said: No. Thereupon he said: By Allah Who is the One in Whose Hand is my life, you will not face any more difficulty in seeing your Lord than you face in seeing one of them." (Muslim)

Dajjal (Anti-Christ) will appear near the end of time

"...Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said: The Dajjal (Anti-Christ) will appear in my Ummah and he will stay (in the world) for forty--(the narrator adds:) I cannot say whether he meant forty days, forty months or forty years. Allah will then send Jesus, son of Mary, who will resemble Urwah ibn Mas'ud. He (Jesus Christ) will chase him (the Anti-Christ) and kill him. Then people will live for seven years, during which time there will be no rancour between any two persons. After that Allah will send a cold wind from the direction of Syria. None will survive on Earth, having a speck of good in him or faith in him: he will die. Even if some among you were to enter the innermost part of the mountain, this wind would reach that place also and cause your death. I heard Allah's Apostle (peace be upon him) as saying: Only the wicked people will survive and they will be as careless as birds with the characteristics of beasts. They will never appreciate good nor condemn evil. Then Satan will come to them, in human form, and would say: Don't you respond? They will say: What do you order us to do? He will command them to worship the idols but, in spite of this, they will have an abundance of sustenance and lead comfortable lives. Then the trumpet will be blown and he who hears it will bend his neck to one side and raise it from the other side. The first one to hear that trumpet will be the person who is busy in setting right the cistern meant for supplying water to the camels. He will faint and the other people will also faint. Then Allah will send or He will cause to be sent rain which will be like dew and there will grow out of it the bodies of people. Then the second trumpet will be blown and they will stand up and begin to look (around). Then it will be said: O people, go to your Lord. They will be made to stand there and they will be questioned. Then it will be said: Bring out a group (of them) for the Hell-Fire. It will be asked: How much? It will be said: Nine hundred and ninety-nine out of one thousand for the Hell-Fire. That will be the day that will make the children old because of its terror and that will be the day about which it has been said: "On the day when the shank will be uncovered". (Muslim)

Fulfilled Prophecies

Refugee: Only for a while

"Verily, He who (God Almighty) ordained the Qur'an for thee, (He) will bring thee back to the Place of Return..." [Holy Qur'an 28:85]

"Place of return," is a title of the Holy City of Makkah. The Hijrat (Migration) was when the Holy Prophet was fleeing from Makkah to Madinah. It was a hopeless situation. Most of his followers had already migrated to Madinah. Now it was his turn. Together with Abu Bakr (as-Siddiq) he heard a place called Juhfa, when this assurance was given by God that once again he will return to his birth-place Makkah, and so he did. He migrated as a refugee and God returns him as a conqueror, fulfilling yet another prophecy:

"And he said, The LORD came from Sinai, and rose up from Seir unto them; he (Muhammad pbuh) shined forth from mount Paran (in Arabia), and he came with ten thousands of saints." [Deuteronomy 33:2]. (referring to Muhammad's conquest of Makkah)

Super-Power: In Conflict

The Roman Empire has been defeated In a land close by; but they (even) after (this) defeat of theirs will soon be victorious Within a few years. With Allah is the Decision in the Past and in the Future: on that Day shall the Believers rejoice [Holy Qur'an 30:2-4]

Two prophecies are mentioned here. First, the Romans shall be Victorious; and second, the Muslims also shall win a victory at the same time. These prophecies were revealed to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in the year 615/16 of the Christian era. The Christian Empire of Rome had lost Jerusalem to the Persians, and Christianity had been humbled in the dust. In this holocaust between two of the Superpowers of the day, the Mushriks (polytheists) of Makkah derived vicarious pleasure in the discomfiture of the Romans by the Pagan Persians.

When these verses of the Quran were sent down, the disbelievers of Makkah made great fun of them, and Ubayy bin Khalaf bet Hadrat Abu Bakr ten camels if the Romans became victorious within three years. When the Holy Prophet came to know of the bet, he said, "The Quran has used the words bid i sinin, and the word bid in Arabic applies to a number upto ten. Therefore, make the bet for ten years and increase the number of camels to a hundred." So, Hadrat Abu Bakr spoke to Ubayy again and bet a hundred camels for ten years. (Please note that these bets were made before betting was forbidden in Islam. Also, the Holy Prophet commanded his companions that the camels should be given away in charity to the poor.)

Apparently, there was not a remote chance of the fulfilment of the either prediction in the next few years. On the one hand, there were a handful of the Muslims, who were being beaten and tortured in Makkah, and even till eight years after this prediction there appeared no chance of their victory and domination. On the other, the Romans were losing more and more ground every next day.

It all happened in the ninth year after these prophecies were revealed. The Roman Emperor became victorious again. In the same year the Muslims won against the polytheists in Makkah in the Battle of Badr.

Islam to Prevail

It is He Who has sent His Apostle with Guidance and the Religion of Truth that he may proclaim it over all religion even though the Pagans may detest (it). [Holy Qur'an 61:9]

The world population increased by 136% from 1934 to 1984, Christianity with 47% and Islam with 235%. See The Plain Truth Feb. 1984, in its 50 Year Anniversary issue, quoting from The World Almanac and Book of Facts 1935 and Reader's Digest Almanac and Yearbook 1983.

Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. Considering that Islam started 600 years after Christianity, Christianity has about 1000 million followers in the world today and Islam 900 million. Also, People register themselves as Christians on the census forms or their birth certificates even though they may not have a religion. Whereas millions of Muslims in the world, especially in the poorer countries do not even get their names registered. But there are more PRACTICING Muslims in the world today than PRACTICING Christians .

Foretelling the Outcome of the Battle of Badr

"When we heard that Abu Sufyan (before he accepted Islam) was coming to attack Madeenah (with an army), the Holy Prophet asked us our opinions (to formulate a defence strategy). Hazrat Saad bin Ubadah (R.A.) stood up and said, "O Holy Prophet! I swear by Him (Allah) in whose control my life is! If you were to command us to jump into the sea then we will do so. And if you commanded us to march to 'Barq-ul-Ghamad' (name of a place far away from Madinah) then we will do exactly that..."

"...The Holy Prophet then gathered the people (Companions of the Holy Prophet) together and departed (from Madeenah). WE continued travelling until we arrived at Badr. There (pointing to a particular spot) the Holy Prophet said, "This is where so-and-so disbeliever will die." The Holy Prophet put his hand on the ground (at various places) and said, "This is where so-and-so disbeliever will die. This is where so-and-so will die." Hazrat Anas says that every single one of those disbelievers (whom the Holy Prophet had named) died at the exact places that the Holy Prophet had indicated (to us the previous day)." (Imaam Muslim)

The above hadeeth describes events relating to the Battle of Badr, which took place during the year 2 al_Hija. The disbelievers came from Makkah to attack Madeenah with fully-equipped army numbering one thousand. On the other hand, the Holy Prophet had only three hundred and thirteen Companions of the Holy Prophet, who went with him to Badr (to defend Madeenah), solely for Allah's pleasure and in obedience to the Holy Prophet's command. When the battle took place the following day, the Companions of the Holy Prophet fought with great strength, courage, determination and strong faith. Allah gave the Muslims a resounding victory against the disbelievers, who were totally vanquished and humiliated. Hazrat Anas says that after the battle, we witnessed with our eyes what the Holy Prophet had foretold (the previous day).

There are many other sayings which show that the Holy Prophet had a knowledge of the Unseen. Some of them include:

Reporting Events In Syria Whilst In Madeenah
His Knowledge of Who Will Enter Paradise or Hell
Foretelling the Manner of Hazrat Ammar's Death
Foretelling the Collapse of the Persian and Roman Empires
His Knowledge of Events occurring in Barzakh (life after death)

Glorifying Jesus (pbuh)

"He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine and shall shew it unto you." [John 16:14]

"But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall TESTIFY OF ME:" [John 15:26]

This promised Comforter, even the Spirit of Truth in whom Truth is personified, when he comes, he will bear witness to the truthfulness of the Messiah and absolve him from the calumnies of his enemies.

This, Muhammad (pbuh), Al-Amin, the Prophet of Truth eminently succeeded in doing. He made it possible that today, a thousand million Muslims believe in Jesus Christ (pbuh) as one of the mightiest Messengers of God. They believe in him as the Messiah. They believe in his miraculous birth, which many modern day Christians, even Bishops do not believe. And they also believe in his many miracles, including those of giving life to the dead by God's leave; and healing those born blind and the lepers by God's leave. What a mighty testimony!

At the present moment a billion Muslims throughout the world accept the Immaculate Conception of Jesus (pbuh) on the authority of Muhammad (pbuh) alone. Jesus (pbuh), his mother and the whole Christian world can never thank Al-Amin - the Spirit of Truth, enough.

There are overwhelming proofs in the Bible that Jesus Christ did not die and rose from the dead. This has been testified by the Holy Qur'an:

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of Allah"; but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but it was made to appear to them so, and those who differ therein are full of doubts with no (certain) knowledge, but they follow only guess-work; for of a surety they killed him not. [Holy Qur’an 4:157]

Muhammad (pbuh) Mentioned by Name in the Bible:

Transliteration of the verse [Song of Songs 5:16] in original Hebrew:

"Hikko mamittakim we kullo MUHUMMUDIM zehdoodee wa ze zehraee bayna Jerusalem"

Translated to:

"His mouth is most sweet: Yea, he is (Muhammad-im) altogether lovely, this is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem." [Song of Solomon 5:16]

From the original Hebrew manuscripts the word "MUHAMMAD-IM", is translated as "altogether lovely". MUHAMMAD-IM is actually the word MUHAMMAD with "im" added. "IM" is the plural of respect in the Hebrew language (as in ELOHIM).
