The blue-eyed caveman carefully drug the dead animal toward the cave he shared with his clan. He was hoping to save the skin to make a new covering to go on his mating hunt with. There was a female across the hill that the men in his cave were trying to impress, hoping to be picked as her mate. The blue-eyed one had been taking her some of the meat from his hunt, hoping to look mightier than the others. The new skin would also give him a look of superiority over the other cavemen.
The other cavemen had tried to impress the female with tricks and inventions. One ran up and down the fast running rivers to show his speed and endurance; he disappeared five full moons ago. Another invented an odd contraption that rolled on the ground. The caveman would ride it up and down the hills, passing the near by cave; odd thing was, he disappeared too. So, the blue-eyed caveman was working extra hard. He knew the woman didn't care about tricks or inventions, he knew she wanted a man who could provide for her. That is why he brought her meat and fur.
Little did he know that one of the other cavemen in his clan was watching him. This caveman planned to show his superiority by fighting the blue-eyed caveman. He knew that the woman was impressed by the blue-eyed one's hunting ability, but he would impress her by showing her his superior strength. Soon all of the other cavemen trying to impress the woman had disappeared, and the hot-headed caveman decided it was time to act.
So the greasy-haired caveman approached the blue-eyed caveman one day during a hunting excursion. This caveman was dead set on attacking the blue-eyed caveman when the female caveman came into view. The greasy-haired man ran with all of his strength, bashing his club into the blue-eyed caveman's stomach.
With one blow to the gut, blue-eyed caveman hit the ground, spitting blood into the dirt. The female came running up to the scene of the fight. She had been hoping the blue-eyed caveman would be coming to drag her back to his cave today. She watched as the blue-eyed caveman staggered to his feet and prepared to attack the greasy-haired man.
The two cavemen began circling each other; they peered into each other's fierce eyes with hatred. Suddenly, the greasy-haired caveman swung again, but this time the blue-eyed wonder ducked left, coming back with a swing with his right fist and knocking greasy-haired man to the ground. The cavewoman grunted with excitement. By this time other members of the tribe had begun to show up to watch the fight over the cavelady.
Greasy-haired caveman took himself off of the ground and charged the blue-eyed caveman. Anticipating his move, the blue-eyed one quickly jumped to the side. Before he realized what had happened, the greasy-haired caveman was rolling down the hill. When he finally stopped at the bottom, he very carefully picked himself up and began to walk away from the hill. He knew that he had lost the fight and must either find a new tribe to join or kill himself.
Blue-eyed caveman was rather stunned, but quickly collected himself. He gazed out at the crowd that had come to watch the fight. Everyone knew the true reason for the fight, and now that it had been decided, they found their way back to their own caves. The cavewoman, with deep brown eyes, was caught a little off guard when the blue-eyed caveman picked her up and carried her back to their new cave. They would never have to worry about greasy-haired caveman again. He would have his own demons to fight.
That night the new couple kept the cave people in the surrounding caves awake with all of their noise. No one was surprised when the blue-eyed caveman and his new mate did not come out of their cave the next morning, either. This kept up for several weeks with the blue-eyed one coming out briefly every day to find food.
And so life continued on in this same manner. Nine months later a new caveboy was born, complete with his father's eyes and mother's smarts. This caveboy was lucky to be born to such great parents. He knew he would be cared for until he was kicked out after so many moons. By then, however, he would be able to care for himself and whatever cavewoman he picked up along the way. The cavepeople lived on until the glaciers from the north poured down upon them, and they were all buried alive in the ice, rain and snow.
