It was a cold November morning. I had finished up my wooden stand the night before with my dad. It was opening day, and it was my first time huntin. I was in my stand for about 15 minutes. and at 6:16 a.m. the deer came walking through. Crash Crash Crash. thats all I heard. Then he walked up beside my stand about 10 yards from me. then he started jogging and got about 60 yards in front of me and stopped.
I got my sites on him and pulled the trig. BOOM!. He jumped and turned and I thought I missed him. so I started talkin to my dad who was sittin by a tree on the ground below. He said he thought I missed him too. So we sat there for a while waitin for another to come through. But we didn't wait long. About 30 minutes later, we went walkin lookin for him. about 60 yards from where i shot him from, we found him. I was so excited. He weighed 170 lbs. field dressed, and like 220 reg. 17-inch spread. I was very happy, and have the mount in my room today!
My dad and I had a ground blind set up,it was about 10:30, we had been there all morning. Finally we heard some leaves crackeling! It was a deer coming right in front of the blind (about 20-25 yards) and was a button-buck. I shot at it and hit it.Then it took off and I shot it one more time! It is down and we drug it out of the woods!
