Apparently there never was an official statement on what the acronym "A.V.A.C." stood for. I guess it just slipped through the cracks over there in Pawtucket. The only mention of anything that comes close in all of the terrrordrome related items is the figure's file card which states, "A.V.A.C. pilots are drawn from the Air Viper pool." So it is obivious that the first two letters would stand for "Air Viper". The rest has been speculated by collectors for some time. Some very solid guesses have included, "Air Viper Aeronautics
Corps", "Air Viper, Advanced Corps" (given by Larry Hama in an internet chat) and "Air Viper Advanced Class".
Straying away from the "Air Viper" part there are also these, "Aero Viper Advanced Class", "Astro Viper Advanced Class" and "Annihilator Very Advanced Class". All six of these are good explinations so you can take your pick.
