The Pentagram

Many people do not understand what the Pentagram actually stands for. They see it as a symbol of Satanism or simply of magick. Although it does have magickal value, it also has religious symbolism. The Pentagram is a portrayal of the Spirit ruling over the Elements. Below is an explanation of the symbolism of the Pentagram.

Earth-physical endurance and strength (bottom left point)

Fire-courage and daring (bottom right point)

Air-arts and intelligence (left point)

Water-emotions and intuition (right point)

Spirit-the All and the Divine (top point)

The circle around the star represents the God and the Goddess. The circle helps to focus and enhance the Pentagram. To some people it also represents the human body surrounded by nature or the God and the Goddess.
