

This is what the summer camp patch looks like once it has been completed. Each year you go, you recieve a segment to add to the patch. Each segment is yellow and has a design of the camp that was attended. The feathers represent the second time that you attend a certain camp that you've already been to. The veteran feather represents a verteran camper, which takes five summer camps to earn it. This emblem is for the Greater St. Louis Area Council only. The emblem nxt to it is for Camp Sunnen in the Trails West Council near Potosi.

During summer camp certain scouts may be eligible for the Order of the Arrow. a scout must be at least first class, be in at least his second year of scouts, have 15 days and nights camping, and be elected by his fellow scouts.
At the Ranch, your patrol camps and prepares your meals separately. Your patrol will have its own dining fly, picnic table, charcoal stove, and patrol box with cooking gear. Each Scout will be issued a wall tent to share with a buddy, a cot, and wooden floorboards. along with the tents materials, the patrols will recieve a pack basket to to get their food, charcoal for the fires, and other various items like a table cloth etc.
This is a picture of Huck's Cove where there are two slides and many other things. It's a mini water park that is built into the lake. Each troop gets to visit Huck's cove once every summer camp.
While at the ranch there are other activities to do other than just summer camp. There is a trail that goes all over the 5,000 acres that the council owns. Her is a picture of one of the most impressive sites on the trail. Fern Grotto is an amazing place were there is amost always water and can have small water falls during the spring months. Many ferns grow in this area and hence the name "Fern Grotto."
The trading post has candy, soda, ice cream, books, patches, shirts, socks, knifes, wood carving kits, hats, and many other things.
