TROOP 403'S EAGLE'S NEST

Troop 403's Eagle Nest.

TROOP 403 HAS PRODUCED IT'S SHARE OF EAGLE SCOUTS SINCE 1925. Around 30 or so. Not bad for a small town and considering only 2 out of every 100 scouts ever make it to Eagle.

THE REQUIRMENS

1.Be active in your troop and patrol for at least six months and be a life scout

2. Show Scout Spirit

3.Earn a total of 21 merit badges(12) required

4.Be in a leadership position for 6 months

5.Do an Eagle Project approved by an Eagle Board.

6.Be in a Scoutmaster conference

7.Have a board of review

8.Have a Court of honor all to yourself

Earn most of these merit badges

After you have received your Eagle then you can earn palms.

All you have to do is earn 5 merit badges after the 21 that you already earned then wait 3 months. First you earn the Bronze palm, then Gold, finally a silver palm. After earning those three, the process repeats until you can't earn any more merit badges or turn 18.

Upon your completion of Eagle, and earning palms, I encourage you to become a member of NESA. National Eagle Scout Association can be something you can carry with you for life, besides making the Eagle rank.

Staying in scouting until your 18 years old also can have it's advantages. It not only gives to something to do and stay busy, but if you work hard the entire time your in scouts, by earning lots of merit badges, awards, and going to lots of campouts, you can apply for the eagle scout scholarship award. Here is a picture. The first patch is for everyone that gets accepted, then they start a process of elimination to give the scholarship money to the best eagle scout in the state and nation. The medal is a regional award. Click on the picture to make it larger.
