League Cup Winners 3-2 v WBA - The first League Cup Final at Wembley.
This remains the only time that QPR have ever won a major competition.
1967/68
- Div II Runners-Up - finished 1 point behind Champions Ipswich.
South Africa Road stand built. Merger with Brentford mooted, but ditched
when fans protested.
1968/69
- In Div 1 for first time. Relegated straight away with worst ever
points total in Div 1 : 18. Record remained until Stoke City's
17 points in 1984/85. They would have got 14 points with 2 points
for a win.
Alec Stock resigns as Manager, replaced by Tommy Docherty for only
28 days, who himself was replaced by Les Allen.

- Phil Parkes signed. Gordon Jago replaced Les Allen as manager and
signed Terry 'Enry' Mancini.

- Rodney Marsh capped for England and sold to Man City at end of season.
Dave Thomas, Don Givens signed. Stan Bowles signs for new club record
of £110,000. Ellerslie Road stand built.

- Div II Runners-Up, one point behind Champions Burnley. Don

Gordon Jago built the foundations and Dave Sexton polished off the
perfect team. QPR played Total Football. Unbeaten at home all season,
winning 13 out of the last 15 games, QPR were cruelly pipped for the
championship by Liverpool. Liverpool needed to beat Wolves in their
last game of the season and were losing 1-0 with 13 minutes to go.
They then scored 3 to prevent one of Englands finest ever teams from
gaining Championship honours. Really lost the championship by losing
to Norwich with 3 games to go. Div I Runners-Up. Club record position.
Gerry Francis appointed England Captain. Dave Clement debut for
England, Don Masson for Scotland.
Highest ever average home attendance 23,422
The 1975/76 Q.P.R. Squad
1976/77
- QPR enter European competition for first time in Uefa Cup.
Reach 1/4 final throwing away 3-0 home lead against AEK Athens,
eventually going out on penalties. Finfish 14th.
Semi-final of League Cup, lost to Aston Villa in replay.
1977/78
- Sexton went to Man Utd and was replaced by Frank Sibley.
The team split-up: Thomas, Masson and Webb and Leach left,
but Paul Goddard signed professional terms. Finish 19th.
1978/79
- Sibley resigned replaced temporarily by Alec Stock, until
Steve Burtenshaw made boss. Clive Allen signed professional
terms and Glen Roeder signed. Phil Parkes sold to West Ham
for £550,000 - a world record for a goalkeeper. Clive Allen
scores hat-trick in his full debut. QPR finished 20th and
relegated. Burtenshaw replaced by Tommy Docherty.
1979-83
- Div II.
1979/80
- Signed Tony Currie, Bob Hazell, Steve Wicks, Chris Woods,
and Gary Micklewhite. Gary Waddcok signed professional terms.
Francis, Hollins and Bowles transferred. Missed promotion by 1 place.
1980/81
- Sold Clive Allen to Arsenal for club record £1,150,000 and
Goddard to West Ham. Ferday, Neill & Stewart signed professinal
terms. Docherty replaced by Venables who signed Stainrod,
Fenwick, Flanagan and Burridge and gave professional terms
to Dawes. Finished 8th.
1981/82
- Infamous plastic pitch installed. First in English League.
Clive Allen signed again and John Gregory signed. Alan McDonald
signed professionally. Finished 5th.
Only FA cup final appearance. Beat WBA 1-0 in semi. Drew
1-1 against Spurs in final. Lost replay 1-0 to a Glen Hoddle
penalty.
1982/83
- Div II Champions by 10 points from Wolves. John Gregory
debuts for England.

- Div I/Premier. Club record in top flight. 13 consecutive years. Average

1983/84
- Signed Mike Fillery. Martin Allen signed professionally.

1984/85
- Alan Mullery takes over. Gary Bannister, John Byrne,
Robbie James and Michael Robinson sign. Clive Allen sold again.
Fenwick, C. Allen England debuts.
Eliminated from 2nd Round of EUFA cup, throwing away a 6-2
home lead to Partizan Belgrade.
Mullery replaced by Frank Sibley as Caretaker Manager.
Finished 1 point above relegation.
1985/86
- Jim Smith takes over as manager. Leroy Rosenior and Clive
Walker signed. Finished 16th.
Reached League (Milk) Cup final. Beating Chelsea 2-0 in the
1/4 final with a 50 yard lob from Robinson. Famously beat
Liverpool in home leg of Semi and then drew 2-2 on a glorious
night at Anfield. The final was in absolute contrast. It was
one of the worst chapters in QPR's history. Played of the park
by an Oxford side they had trounced at Loftus Rd in the league.
QPR lost 3-0 and Jim Smiths' side played appallingly.
1986/87
- David Seaman, Sammy Lee and Les Ferdinand (£15,000 from Hayes)
signed. QPR's greatest ever Chairman, Jim Gregory finally sold
club to Marler Esates. Gregory had been responsible for taking
QPR from the old Div III to the top of the old Div I, and
building an almost completely new stadium at the same time.
David Bulstrode took over the club personally after fan power
caused Marler's plans to merge with Fulham and create a team
called 'Fulham Park Rangers'. Birth of the independent supporters
club LSA (Loyal Supporters Association). Finished 16th.
1987/88
- Signed Mark Dennis, Paul Parker, Kevin Brock, Danny Maddix,
Mark Falco and Trevor Francis. Finished 5th and top London club.
Didn't enter EUFA cup as English club ban was in place.
1988/89
- Signed Ossie Ardiles, Simon Barker and Mark Stein. Bradley Allen
signed Professinal terms. Bulstrode died and was replaced as
Chairman by 24 year old Richard Thompson. Smith went to Newcastle.
Shreeve appointed Manager temporarily until Trevor Francis given
the job. Francis signed Spackman, Andy Gray, Peter Reid, Colin
Clarke and Andy Sinton. Lost 5-2 in 1/4 final of League cup to
Nottingham Forest. Finished 9th.
1989/90
- Kenny Sansom and David Bardsley bought. Don Howe joins coaching
team. Francis eventually replace by Don Howe as Manager.
Ray Wilkins, Roy Wegerle and Dominic Iorfa signed. Big Dom the
only International (Nigeria) to play for QPR and to appear to
not understand the off-side laws. Finished 11th. Lost to
Liverpool 1-0 in replayed 1/4 final of FA Cup. David Seaman
sold to Arsenal for £1,300,000. Paul Parker plays for England.
1990/91
- Signed Jan Stejskal - Czech National keeper, Clive Wilson
and Andy Impey. Wegerle scores goal of the season against
Leeds. Bobby Gould joins coching staff. Signed Darren Peacock
and Rufus Brevett. Gould moves onto WBA. Finished 12th.
1991/92
- Don Howe replaced by Gerry Francis as Manager. Bought Dennis
Bailey and Ian Holloway. QPR beat Man Utd at Old Trafford
for first time. Dennis Bailey hat-trick drives 4-1 victory.
Wegerle sold to Blackburn for £1 million. Finished 11th.
1992/93
- QPR one of 22 founding members of FA Premier League. Away
game at Man City first Monday night fixture live on Sky TV.
David Bardsley and Les Ferdinand make England debuts. Devon 'Bruno'
White signed and becomes probably the most loved striker with
the littlest skill but the biggest stature. Tony Roberts makes Wales
debut. Finished 5th and top London club.
1993/94
- Finished 9th in the Premier League.
1994/95
- Sold Andy Sinton to Sheff Wed. Bought Trevor Sinclair.
Finished 9th. Gerry Francis resigns after long running battle
with Richard Thompson over keeping players at the club. Ray Wilkins
appointed. Thompson demotes himself, and appoints Peter Ellis as
Chairman. Ferdinand sold to Newcastle for club record £6m.
1995/96
- Clive Wilson poached for Spurs by Francis. Hateley signed for £1.5m
club record. Simon Osborn & Ned Zelic signed and rapidly sold. QPR's record
consecutive tenure of top division comes to an end after 13 seasons
Paul Murray signed from Carlisle. The seeds of Thompsons years of
lack of investment and negativity finally bear fruit, as QPR get
relegated in 19th position. Ian Holloway leaves to manage Bristol Rovers.
1996/97
- Richard Thompson sells up to Chrysalis boss Chris Wright for £10m and turns his attention to Leeds.
Wright sets in place the most revolutionary changes at QPR since the
Jim Gregory era. Wasps Rugby club bought by Wright and a holding company,
Loftus Rd PLC set up with Wasps & QPR playing at Loftus Rd. Loftus Road
PLC floated on AIM, with share issue over-subscribed. For first time
fans own a small stake in QPR.
The money raised used for investements in new players and paying off loans.
Wilkins leaves and is replaced by the old Arsenal management team in
reverse : Houston Manager & Rioch Assistant. After 2 months in charge
Houston signs John Spencer, Scottish International (£2.5m club record)
& Gavin Peacock (on loan) from Chelsea.

-Ray Harford replaces Houston as manager.
Mike Sheron joins as Ray Harford's first signing.
20th in division 1 at end of season.
Season starts off badly, Harford sacked. Iain Dowie takes on caretaker. The Gerry returns and takes Rangers back up the table
