FACTS ABOUT WICCA

Wicca is a very pre-Christian Earth religion that is based on a very major respect for nature and that we do not have the right to exploit nature for our own personal gain. Wiccans are concerned with ecology and believe that both animate and inaimate objects possess a spirit which forms part of the Whole. Wicca is a celebration ofthe life-forces of nature as personified by the Goddess and her consort, the God. There is nothing really supernatural aout Wicca. Wiccans use special tools such as spells, visualization, chants, candles, amulets and meditation to help focus there power, but it comes within the soul, not from these tools. It is said that all of our ancestors knew how to use it effectively, but it is largely forgotten in these modern times. Wicca is not synonymous with the worship of Satan. The very concept of a supremem evil spirit seems to be alien to Wicca. Most Wiccans don't even believe in Satan. the notion that wiccans worship Satan was propounded by the Roman Catholic Church and it made its way accross Europe, in an effort to suppress the native earth-based religons that were prevalent at the time. They succeeded to the extent that they drove most practitioners of the earth-based religions underground where much of the traditions and knowledge were lost. It was through the Golden Dawn, as well as the work of archeological research that many of these traditions have been rediscovered and incorporated into most modern shamanistic religions.
