Our coach, Bela Valter, is Hungarian born and educated and is the only fencing master and full time professional fencing coach in the St. Louis metropolitan area. For thirteen years he was a member of the Hungarian national sabre team and was among the top competitors in the world. Bela has coached many of today's top Hungarian fencers. With a university education and degree as a fencing maestro, his emphasis has always been on the education and development of young athletes. At Ladue Highland FC, he is an exceptionally perceptive and thorough teacher to students of all ages and levels of fencing.
