I guess you could call me a typical girl. I love wearing cute clothes, shopping for cute clothes, gossiping, and I'm a sucker for romantic movies and sweet, sappy guys. I like to read girlie magazines, like Glamour or Cosmo, and I love talking about feelings. One of my best friends says I'm sugar-coated, and I don't deny it, cause I know I am. But actually, I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm not pretending to be someone I'm not, it's just who I am. It's not some outer layer of sweet Jill that's secretly covering up the mean and evil Jill. I really am just a cute, sweet girl!
I'm now working at the best daycare in Columbia, KinderCare. Since I started there in May, I think I've truly become a better person, because being at a job that I love doing has made me feel better about myself and my life. It's amazing how something like that can make me happy and make me look at my life in a totally different way. The people I work with are great. I think they all love being there with the kids as much as I do, and it shows. Not only has working there made me a better person, it's made me aware that teaching and working with kids is really what I want to do with the rest of my life. I've made so many great connections with some of those kids. When one of my kids is unhappy, it absolutely breaks my heart, but I know that it's my job to help them and make them feel better about themselves, and I'm pretty good at that, if I do say so myself. Working at KinderCare is an experience I would never trade.
What would life be like without likes and dislikes? Here's some of mine. In my free time (free time? What's that?) I like to hang out with my friends, talk on the phone, and write email to my best friend Carley, cause she's SO far away. I love spending time with my family. I have a mom, a dad, and a sister, plus the guy she's married to. I like to call him my brother-in-law. Creative name, huh? My family's cool, when we're all getting along, which is almost always. They're supportive of me most of the time, and even when they aren't, I know it's because they think they are doing what's best for me. And as much as I hate to admit it, they're usually right. I like to write letters, play with stickers, buy cute cards, and color. I like listening to cool music, like The Offspring and Matchbox 20, whose lead singer is REALLY cute, btw :) and watching MTV. I like remembering the 80's, like the cool music (Debbie Gibson and Tiffany!), the classic movies (Pretty in Pink!), the great hairstyles (side ponytail - oh yeah), and the crazy fashion trends (tight rolling?) The 80's basically rock. My favorite TV show has recently become Dawson's Creek, a great show about life on the WB network. Friends and Days of Our Lives tie for a close second behind Dawson's, but I will NEVER miss an episode of Dawson's. I love Winnie the Pooh. He's the cutest, silliest bear in the 100 Acre Forest, even if he is a bear of very little brain. There's a lot of cool Pooh sites out there, but check out the one below for some cool Pooh quotes and other nifty facts about Pooh! Some things I dislike are action movies, icky classic rock music like KISS (bleh), teachers who teach cause they have nothing else to do with their lives, parents who spank their kids, rude customers, going to the dentist, and a girl I went to high school with who cried a lot. I really didn't like her. I hate it when people want me to be something I'm not, and try to mold me into what they expect from me. I am who I am, and that's who I'll always be. So there's some of my likes and dislikes. Most of all, I like to relax, hang out, and be happy!
