Harbor came into being two years ago in July. We had been listening to music on the radio and for years had pondered the question-"Why can't we get a recording contract?" Finally our Mom (Cheryl) told us the answer: "Because you haven't tried". A combination of that answer and the influence of the Backstreet Boys put into action a plan to reach for our dream: a record deal with a label, and hearing our songs on the radio.
When we got three songs together, with our voices and the beat exactly as we liked them, we tried to get instrumentalists to aid us in the never ending search for background music. Over the course of six months, we went through four electric and two bass guitarists, and two keyboardists. None of them were serious about a career in the music business, and were not willing to make the songs good. We finally became so frustrated with it that we decided we would have to leave instrumental to the label who signs us.
We used our home karaoke machine to record the only demo tape of our songs that we could afford. It sounded decent, but we still weren't happy with it. So we finally went into a studio (Happy Rock Music Studio) and recorded an excellent quality demo tape. There is still no instrumental, but the quality is master quality. We hope that a music executive with a vision will hear it and understand the possibilities of our songs. Now we have to sit back and wait for that executive to hear our tape and visit our website.
