We met a couple that were in the same hotel, and about the same age as us and we spent about half of the week hanging out with them. They were from the same state (although on the opposite side.) Come to find out we were all on the same plane coming in and flying home. After we arrived back at the airport in St Louis we got to visit with them at their home for a bit before we headed back to Kansas City. They were so much fun and it was a pleasure getting to know them.
These are the only pictures of the room that we took. When you're in such a beautiful place, who wants to stay in the room?
The pool was smaller than some of the bigger hotels, but it was nice. It had 2 seperate areas with one area set up for volleyball. The swim-up bar was fun and they had a good bartender.
The beach was pretty and didn't have very many people on it. Since the hotel is a distance from the business district it was pretty quiet.
Here we have a picture of the beach before Hurricane Roxanne and a picture after the hurricane. Now remember, these pictures were taken in October of 1995 so it shouldn't look like this now. We had to get the hotel staff to let us back into our old room so that we could take the picture. The windows were a little broken so we had to change rooms and we ended up in a room facing the lagoon.

*Additional note: We returned to the Cancun area July 2000 and made a visit. The room that we toured looked nothing like the previous pictures but they were now a part of the "Timeshare" world and of course they showed us a nice room. I don't know if all of the rooms had been remodeled or just the timeshare rooms. I will put newer pictures on as soon as I can get them scanned.
