Dear Mary, Carol, everyone,
For some length of time John would cling to the hope that Cobu would
return to her former self, like it was it the Forever Family.  When good
feelings such as peace with God and companionship with our peers was
present, coming to terms with the reality of Cobu being a cult is difficult
to accept.  Yes, indeed most of us can remember the good times, yet they
were necessarily connected to our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Who can
boast of a rewarding relationship with Stewart?  Can anyone associate him
with any of those enjoyable experiences?  If so, they are few in number. The
separation between Stewart and the members of the group is evident.  As I
have said previously, we loved God and our devotion was sincere, which
included a willingness to go anywhere or do anything to please our Lord.
Was such the case with Stewart?  The contrasts between the leader and
followers are pronounced. The dedicated followers were the ingredient that
made any part of Cobu/FF seem appealing.  Of course, as time passed and
Stewart gained more control, the good deeds and devotion of the followers
were stifled.  The result now is that only Stewart rules and the members
have lost any joy they once had.  To an even greater extent, they have lost
their persons, their individuality.  Do they even know who they really are
and what they want?  Everything that defines who a person is has been judged
and determined by others and finally through the utterances of Stewart
Traill.  The followers have sacrificed their humanity and spirituality on
the altar of Stewart's blasphemous teachings.  All that remains are ruins, a
heap of ashes from which nothing virtuous or wholesome can be resuscitated.
So my reply to those who would have us return was concise, THE DREAM IS
OVER.  Remember this was John Lennon's reply when asked if the Beatles would
ever re-unite.  And the dream in Cobu has been found out to have been a
NIGHTMARE.
