Virtues of Stones

Alabaster: To have victory and amity. Ointments are made of it for the burying of the dead.

Amazonite: Joy. Protector of women.

Amber: Emits powerful amounts of heat and light. Intensely magnetic. To be victorious against thy adversaries.

Amethyst: Energy. Clarity. Inspiration. Meditation. Healing. Divine love. Purity. Love of God. Strengthens endocrine and immune systems. Gives peace of mind, and is said to be a protection against intoxication. Gives good understanding in things that may be understood.

Amiantus: It gets rid of poison and makes a man able to overcome his adversaries, prophesize and interpret all dreams. It also makes a man able to understand dark questions hard to understand.

Aquamarine: A bringer of help and health. As earrings, the wearer gets love and affection. Means good luck for ocean travelers. In powder form diluted with water it is a cure for laziness.

Aventurine: Health. Happiness. Tranquility. Stimulates muscle tissue; eases anxiety.

Beryl: Hope. Welfare. To overcome all debate and drive away thy enemies making them meek. Causes a man to be well mannered. It also gives good understanding.

Bloodstone: Promotes inner guidance, idealism and altruism.

Carnelian: Sexuality. Energizes blood; aids kidneys, lungs, liver. Protects its owner from the wrath of the Sun God.

Chrysocolla: Activator of feminine power. Promoter of subconscious balance. Enhances creative expression. Amplifies the throat chakra.

Citrine: Self-esteem. Good for kidneys, colon, liver, gall bladder, heart.

Clear Quartz: Clarity. Energy. Activates other stones. Activates pineal and pituitary glands; stimulates the brain.

Coral: Protection against pestilence and the evil eye. Keeps you safe from drowning. Keeps away pimples.

Corundum: When worn mitigates wrath, lechery and other hot passions.

Diamond: Guarantees sincerity, constancy and courage. When worn on the left side it is good against enemies, madness, wild beasts, venomous beasts and cruel men and against chiding and brawling, venom and invasion of fantasies.

Emerald: Though good for the memory, it is said to separate and break when a marriage breaks. Helps one be steadfast. Comforts and saves, makes a man understand well and gives him a good memory. Augments the riches of him who wears it and if any man shall hold it under his tounge he shall prophesize.

Garnet: Love. Compassion. Devotion. Loyalty. Energy. Grace.

Hematite: Activates spleen, positive effect on the bloodstream.

Jade: Makes gardens flourish, grass grow, cherry and apple trees give forth sweet, fragrant fruit. If you wear one you will spend your days in peace--tranquilly, successfully growing things.

Lapis Lazuli: Strengthens skeletal system, activates thyroid. Success. Cures melancholy and fever.

Lava: Attracts rain.

Leopardskin Jasper: Powerful healer--liver, gall bladder, bladder.

Malachite: Reduces stress. An aid to the unconscious. Strengthens heart, circulatory system.

Mica: If you feel in constant danger from yourself carry it in your pocket. When danger approaches it will give you a prick if you put your hand on it.

Moonstone: Gives assistance in aligning your emotions with your higher self. Healing affinity with stomach, spleen, pancreas and lymph. Brings good luck.

Mother-of-pearl: Lifts spirits, cures feverish ravings of the mind brought on by worry, and when worn in your right ear, improves your memory. If any man shall bear this stone under his tongue on the first day of the lunar month or the 29th day he will fore judge and prophesy of things to come.

Onyx: Relieves stress, strengthens bone marrow. Multiplies strife. Brings good dreams. An infallibly unlucky stone when given as a gift. When worn on the neck or finger it stirs up sorrow or heaviness, terrors and also debate.

Opal: Although good for the eyes, it is considered unlucky unless it is your birth stone.

Pearl: An amulet for chastity and purity.

Peridot: Heals bronchitis when worn about the neck.

Red Jasper: Powerful healer--liver, gall bladder, bladder. A cure for madness.

Rhodochrosite: Blood circulation.

Rhodonite: Confidence. Love. Heightens mind and body energies. Powerful attractor. Self-esteem. Calming. Aids central nervous system, thyroid, pituitary.

Rose Quartz: Allayer of fear, jealousy and resentment. Love. Promotes development of forgiveness. Compassion. Helps kidneys and circulatory system, also fertility.

Ruby: Powerful against poison, plague, sadness, evil thoughts, and wicked spirits. An aid to love and passion. Warns the wearer of evil by becoming obscure or black. Good against fever.

Sapphire: Prevents evil and impure thoughts. Enables the wearer to preserve innocence and chastity. Is an enemy of anger. Said to be lethal to any venomous reptile when placed in the same glass with it.

Snowflake Obsidian: Benefits stomach and intestines; reduces stress.

Sodalite: Aids pancreas, balances endocrine system.

Sugilite: Channeling. Promotes spiritual awareness.

Sulfur: All beasts run to it, as to their defender.

Tiger's Eye: Strengthens spleen, pancreas, colon; grounds and centers. Protects its wearer against terrible moments of inward fear and quaking. If you hold this stone in your left hand while concentrating on an enemy you can put the evil eye on him. When holding it under the tongue, always conjecturing thou shalt prophesy things to come.

Topaz: Brings love and affection. When set in gold it drives away foolishness and expelleth fantasies. It is affirmed to give wisdom and is good against fear.

Tourmaline: Sleep. Alleviates fear. Super-charged with magnetic and electric energy.

Turquoise: Protector against all things evil. Self-love. Strength. Peace of mind. Protection against falls. Good for courage. Good against blindness.
