Christmas Gum Drop Cake


1 Cup Butter
1 Cup Sugar
2 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups Sweet Applesauce
4 Cups Flour
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Cloves
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
2 Pounds Small Gum Drops, Cut In Half
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda Dissolved
in 1/2 Cup Warm Water.



Mix sugar, butter, eggs and applesauce. Sift and
add dry ingredients. Stir, add FLOURED gum drops
and nuts and baking soda dissolved in warm water.
Bake in angel food cake pan lined with greased
paper. (You can also bake it in a loaf pan) Bake
at 200 degrees for 90 minutes with foil over the
top. Remove foil and bake for another 30 minutes.
Be sure your gum drops are well floured.
