PC R-III French

Twenty-five Platte County R-3 High School students and two teachers made a voyage to Poitiers, France as part of a cultural exchange with the highschool Alienor d'Aquitaine. This was the 9th exchange. It formed in 1989.

Over 40 applicants were interviewed to fill the 25 spots available for the trip. Applicants were interviewed in French and English to find out their reason for participating in the exchange. The teachers evaluated each applicant on maturity, ability to work with others and their ability to make up work while on the trip.

The 25 students chosen for the exchange were sophomores, Jessica Klimek and Tessa Shanks; juniors, Nikki Allison, Erin Bogart, Danica Conlee, Allyson Daniel-Hartegan, Cassie Jarrett, Kate Strauss, and Leah Townsend; and, seniors, Andy Asher, Holly Bahr, Sam Burke, Evan Cline, Chad Clinefelter, Traci Daniel, Katie Eckerberg, Diane Everett, Tyler Fadler, Nicole Hancox, Stephanie Hylton, Staci Koch, Drew Peterson, Shelley Pruitt, David Swaney and Becky Waller. Teachers Gay Stuart and Angie Sherman sponsored the trip.

We would really like to think UMKC for all of their support. We couldn't have done it without their biannual grant, the parents, and everyone that helped us along the way. Thanks!
