I started Extra Time in week 14, and picked my first team for the matches against Inter Milan and Rangers. I drew 1-1 with Inter Milan but lost 1-0 to Rangers. The next week, I picked a different squad and brought in new signing George Kinkladze and again, I drew 1-1 with Juventus and lost 1-0 to Blackpool. I didn't let this put me down. I was 5th in the league and although I knew I couldn't be champions, I could become third, or even second so I picked a different team with a different formation. Mario Melchiot, one of my star midfielders was suspended so in came reserve, transfer listed Gerald Sibbon. I picked him to play Aston Villa but left him out of the game versus Charlton. To my wonder, we beat Aston Villa with Sibbon scoring and drew 0-0 with Charlton. For the next week, I left Sibbon in the team for both games. It was week 18 and I was playing the already-crowned champions West Ham, who had lost once all season to me before, but I wasn't manager. We lost 2-0 to an almost invincible West Ham team but beat Fiorentina 3-0 with Jari Litmanen, Arno Splinter and Richard Witschge scoring. Week 19 and a win versus third place Blackburn 2-0 (Witschge and Nigerian World cup star Sunday Olisheh) and another draw versus Chelsea. Last week of the season and I beat Nottingham Forest 2-0 with Micheal Laudrup and Jari Litmanen scoring and a game against FC Porto who were second in the league who beat me 5-3. I was happy to score three though! Oliseh, Witschge and Litmanen scored. I finished 6th in the league only to be overtaken by my friend Adam Trunks, who manages Barcelona. Next season I feel I may go one step further and will be aiming for a top three place.
